While I do agree on that front, they would need to have quality levels of FW in order for it to be a real claim. Having to spend all the time fixing what should have been right initially wasn't just a small drawback, it should have been a non-starter with the material. Definitely looking forward to more plastics and the new direction character models like these will take from now on.

Re: The Painting Corps: Reinforcements: Logan Grimnar

Malthus, yeah, I've only worked with a few other finecast models in the past and they weren't nearly this bad. I don't think I'll ever pick any of them up for myself. Will just have to rummage around for old metals or buy some of the new plastic characters instead.

Re: The Painting Corps: Reinforcements: Logan Grimnar

Thanks Zab! It was mostly a college related absence. Lots of class, lots of projects and lots of time eaten up.

Have a lot of stuff coming up this year that should be exciting and fun and also miniatures related so stay tuned!

Re: The Painting Corps: Reinforcements: Falcon Guard Dante

Here's to getting back to the hobby that I love ;)

Re: The Painting Corps: Reinforcements: Falcon Guard Dante

Thanks Donzo, It's awesome to put paintbrush to model again instead of just canvas or paper! in line with this style, and it could in fact save me a lot more time on them for future models let alone look better :).

Still, I have a soft spot for brightly colored eldar, it just isn't what I have in mind.

Fri, 13 Jan 2012 13:44:57 decision about it, but now that you mention it it really does make you question this models intentions and his origins. I might have to go back and use this metal on my eldar. Ugh, I really am going to repaint my eldar now arn't I?

Thu, 12 Jan 2012 10:06:48 Container

It's not terribly complicated. I took a Velveeta box and cut strips of corrugated cardboard sheet to fit each side. Strips of card were then cut to cover edges and help create the doors. Plasticard pipes were cut and glued in for the door hinges and locking mechanisms and small strips of card were cut to make the handles.

It's not exactly a comprehensive run down but it's about as complex as it gets. You should be able to reverse engineer more from the photos as needed.

If you're in the need for lots of line of sight blocking terrain, I suggest you invest in some foamcore posterboard and start cutting it up for some ruins. Small walls in modular sections are really useful too and can be broken up with larger wall sections to block more LOS. Expanded insulation foam is a near must as well for building hills and can help build a myriad of other terrain types.

Hope that helps :)

<dc:creator anything right now on here ;)

Cool zoey btw. I'd consider sculpting the arms in myself though to mimic the small vestigial arms from the original, and wouldn't be terribly hard to do since they're so small. Good choices though.

Sat, 01 Oct 2011 14:26:41
