Any church (INC, RC, UCCP, IFI, etc) should fist ensure that they are on a high moral ground - because in the first place that is the foundation of the church. Any church who resort to legal means as a first option in dealing with moral issues loses its moral ground. Alam naman natin na sanlibong sitwasyon ay legal subalit hindi moral. Yan dapat ang alalahanin ng lahat ng simbahan.

Parang pulitika na pala ang AFP ngayon (sabagay mukha nga). As stated in other posts here, an officer cannot quit his post. He has to be relieved or transferred. Yan ang hindi masyadong naiintendihan ng mga civilians. You offer to quit your post kung you felt you are a disgrace to the unit, and request for a court martial to either clear or punish you. This is simply a manifestation that this officer felt the new commander does not trust him or he cannot work with the new commander - baka may masamang tinapay sa dating pinagsamanah nila. It is far from being a professional gesture as far as the military is concerned - pang civilian lang etong ginawa nya.

I am no fan of VP Binay but let's give credit where it is due. I am a Jakarta resident for almost two years now and I know pretty well the Indonesian psyche. VP Binay gave a letter and spoke to the VP of Indonesia. I am no party to the meeting but it is logical that the conversation that followed centers on the issue. When the appeal was made by PBA to PJW, the latter convened his cabinet to discuss. Certainly the inputs from the Indonesian VP had its weight in the Indonesian cabinet. The Philippine government as a whole should be blamed for neglecting the Veloso affair. Many Filipinos in Indonesia made noise many years back when Veloso was convicted but there were no collective efforts from the Philippines to intervene, it waited for the 11th hour. Can you blame VPJB for neglect if our DFA did not give him the details of this case? There are Filipinos beheaded in Saudi Arabia and hanged in China. Are these all the faults of VPJB?

I am a keen observer of the actuations of PEEMAYERS from the time they graduate from PMA until retirement. I know for a fact that there were PMA cadets who resigned for "honor violation" who have lived a more honorable life than their counterparts who remained in the service. This should serve as an inspiration for Alvin - prove that you are more honorable outside the walls of the PMA than those who tried and convicted in the Honor Committee . The world will be watching. You have my prayers and moral support on this.

The Ombudsman should investigate all the releases of Pichay amounting to BILLIONS from his PB to the AFP when he was the Speaker. It was a common knowledge among the AFP financial community that those releases were RTS (returned to sender), with the AFP as the clearing house. Pinambili daw lahat ng office supplies at ang biro biro pag tinambak sa Camp Aguinaldo parade ground ang bond paper na binili mas mataas pa daw sa GHQ building.

I agree with the freedom of choice - my choice to stay married despite differences - and I respect the choice of others - either to stay or get out of marriage. My statement above is a challenge to Irish to stay married just like me because we both oppose divorce.
