I hope to finish the series (12 imaginaries) in the course of this year and then I have to find a gallery. (BTW I have registered the name BoerPunk as a trademark)

Re: http://www.clickmarkets.net/index.php/learn/strategies/53-10-principles-for-successful-social-media-action.html

What works in one country does not have to work in another country. There are cultural differences that reflects in the way the message is read. (you can also replace 'country' with 'target market'). "You" works for one group and, also f.e., "Brother" (or/and "Sister") for another. Etc. etc.
Use of language is indeed very important for the group of people you (?) want to reach with your message. Unfortunately there has not been much of 'socio-demographic' research in this field.

Re: The Science of Retweets on Twitter

Time zone probably plays a role. More than 70% of tweets are from North America.
A division in continents or even countries will provide different pictures.
For example: South Africans are not retweeters and only 3-4% of South African tweets are read by South Africans. Most responsive words (retweets) for South Africans are 'bokkie', 'hardegat', 'bakgat' and 'gatvol'. In Europe you willl see that relativily most retweeters are based in UK. Etc. etc.

But still: interesting

Re: Social Marketing Is Rooted In The Brand

Hi Mike,

Explanation as requested: see reference above (Branding the experience). although in different wording the essence behind is (at least: partly) the same.

Herman & Yvonne

Re: We’re Spending More Time with Social Media: Advertisers Follow

Interesting presentation (inspired by us): How an US marketing guru learned something from a tiny enterprise in South Africa http://ow.ly/vL0y

Re: Social Marketing Is Rooted In The Brand

Indeed; a brand lives in the hearts and minds of people. See also this: http://soekershof.typepad.c...
In our case we added a 'signature' (cotyledon) which is recognized by visitors. We call it 'the brand' but in fact this signature represents the identity of the brand and that, in our own words, is what we've learned today (never to old to learn)

Thanks,
Yvonne & Herman from a warm South Africa

Re: We’re Spending More Time with Social Media: Advertisers Follow

Interesting and can find ourselves in it. However (own research): 74 percent of Twitters are from North America; the rest mainly from Europe. Another thing is that only 3% of the tweets from South African twitters are read by South Africans ........ Etc. etc. With other words: if I would be an South African advertiser with products/services designated for the South African market twitter is not the first tool of think of.
We dearly miss socio-demographic data in these statistics.

Re: 10 Of The Most Beautiful Places Of The World

Pity that these people haven't been everywhere in South Africa. The discovery of the real South Africa starts off the beaten track and that is not so far from Cape Town (2 hrs drive). Look for example this (and than look further): http://soekershoflandart.wo...
