They also use more drive space than installed packages.  PLUS when you use the graphical tools many times you see....2 of the app. One is the flatpak.  The other is the traditional deb files. It's hard to tell which is which because the last time I used the tool...there was no differentiation on which was which.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;They ARE good ideas....but I also think that the common apps like Chrome, LibreOffice....ones that are always there...they aren''t really needed.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Where they work well is if your app is extremely picky on what libraries it uses.
