You look so pretty Kristin! I love the way that you captured the streaming light and shadows in these photos. And your honeymoon sounds like it's going to be awesome! For shoe suggestions, I have a pair of these http://www.zappos.com/born-..., by Born. They are super comfy and can take the wear and tear of cobblestones. I have low arches too, so I just slip some arch supports in them and they are good to carry me all day! Hope you find something that works for you :)

The nude dress is the Melba Dress FYI. Disappeared from the site because I think it sold out when it went on sale in the US the other week. I admit I'm pining after it myself, in the black...though really, how does one wear a bra with it? So troubling!

Bonnie, I do appreciate your point, but I'm not sure these two situations are comparable. I did not participate in the drama back in January, but I read it and I do genuinely think you hurt and offended several people whether you realized it or not. I think part of the reason that situation blew up was that people were trying to point out their hurt feelings to you and you kept denying that your statement was offensive at all and saying you didn't have to filter yourself and it all just snowballed out of control. I am not trying to get into something or start further debate or drama, because I do actually admire your spirit and how you've handled yourself in the last week in response to the GOMI drama, but something about this post just doesn't sit right with me.

I had to deal with one of my best friends having a crazy secret like this and it took me ages to feel like I could trust anyone again. Loved hearing the details of your trip, and your pictures, as usual, are just breathtaking. So glad you and Steve got a chance to relax and enjoy the beauty down there.

My mother is incredibly paranoid about safety and passed that down to me. I honestly will find myself growing anxious if someone is behind me on the streets of yuppie-inundated Palo Alto. I think it's really thoughtful and admirable to reflect so much on the reasons of your feelings for fear and how to deal with the disparity in privilege, but I don't think you should be ashamed. It's only natural to at least try to be cautious, and I think probably advisable in the long-run to risk inadvertently offending someone than risk harm to oneself :/ And someone starting to follow you, even just incidentally, would have sent up all my red flags too, no matter who or where. I think your actions stemmed not against a particular bias against the people of Belize themselves, but just from a general, well-advised sense of safety and self-preservation that might have reared itself against anyone anywhere.

I love reading on my Kindle, iPad, computer and phone (well I gave away my original Kindle at some point, but I use the Kindle app on the other three), mostly because it makes reading so convenient and allows me to sneak reading into my small moments of spare time very often, but I've never forgotten my love for actual, physical books, half obselete as they are. That's why I have a laptop case that looks like a giant book, and an iPad cover that looks like a Moleskine notebook. I love that you chose your cases with a somewhat similar thought process :)

I hope you and Chris love your new tablets and use them well! Oh, and my Moleskine-alike case is half broken since I dropped it a few months ago...might consider replacing with one of those awesome book cover cases you highlighted. My heart is calling out to the Master and Margarita One, or perhaps the awesomely illustrated Pride & Prejudice cover. Thanks for sharing!
