I think one challenge that eBay India faces is that eBay's Safety and Trust department, under which this responsibility might come, is controlled by eBay US and the Indian team has no participation in or control over. This is something they should change if they are to survive the Indian market.

I differ on Sandeep's view that it is too early for a ChannelAdvisor like service in India. In fact I think there is a dire need for it.

There are a number of online marketplaces in India now such as eBay, Amazon, Snapdeal, Shopclues, Tradus, Flipkart, etc and the list goes on. For a seller who is selling on two or more of these sites, a ChannelAdvisor like site would be quite helpful. At Browntape we are trying to offer such a service for Indian sellers.

200 million users sounds dubious, there aren't enough internet users for it to happen. Might be better to recheck and confirm.
For example, Snapdeal with much more funding ($100+ Million) and revenues, claims 20 million users.

On Chris' comment from the previous post and as mentioned in this post, it should be fair for video pitchers to advertise their submission to the competition.

In fact, popularity of a concept/business is one of the key determinants of the success of a business. The more popular it is amongst users, more it means that it is being liked and is useful for them.

This could be unfair to people who are only a concept. Partially though, mint.com had a following of 20,000 before they even launched.

The biggest announcement of the keynote for me was the iPhone 2.0 Software and the SDK. This is BIG!

The software makes iPhone the most desirable mobile device. Apart from being a phone, a music player, a movie player, a browser, a games console and a navigation system, it can be anything you can think of and you don't need to be an MIT graduate to build it. No other mobile device is capable of this feat (unless you consider laptop a mobile device).

Amazon's S3 and EC2 services are undoubtedly a very innovative and bold move by Amazon are doing pretty well.
However, most of the credit for the increased profit at Amazon's last quarter goes to the last instalment of the Harry Potter book which was the biggest opening for a new product at Amazon, selling 2.5 million copies. Following this, Amazon has lowered its earnings estimates for the next quarter.

Well I guess, iShares went down in reflection to the price cut of the iPhone. Now Apple will have to sell at least twice as many iPhones to reap in the same amount of profits, no wonder investors aren't be happy about that.

I believe that if Google is going to come up with a product, as the reports and speculation suggest, which is going be laden with cutting edge technologies including capabilities for internet search, maps, etc. This would lead to a fairly high end product not so well suited for a low-to-mid price range market that is dominant in India. Moreover, it would require a good infrastructure for the bandwidth requirements such as either wireless hotspots or 3G, neither of which are prevalent at this time in India. This makes India not such an obvious market to release the product in, suggesting that it is just a wild speculation. I could be wrong.
