DHH shared some gems. He seems super down-to-earth for a high-flying internet unicorn...

You referenced Ricardo Semler's "Maverick," which is definitely an interesting (mind-blowing, especially in context?) read. But very hard to find, as you mentioned. His TedX talk is a good glimpse into that though, 20+ years later (he no longer looks like he did on the book cover): https://www.ted.com/talks/r...

Re: AP 081 – Featured Travel Redemptions

Ahoy! Sounds like some great travel coming up!

A few notes:
1) The American Airlines Platinum challenge mentioned for the Founders Card requires you to earn 10,000 Elite Qualifying POINTS, not Miles. Gotta watch your fare class to get the 10k EQ Points without flying way more than 10k miles.

2) The bonus miles you earn with elite status on AA don't count toward elite status--only your base miles flown count as EQMs. So the 100% mileage bonus as Platinum only means more redeemable miles, not faster re-qualification for elite status.

3) Wanted to make sure you were aware of the sweet spot with Singapore Airlines for flights from Brazil to Europe and/or Asia. SA honors the Brazilian law of not charging fuel surcharges for itineraries originating in Brazil (doesn't apply for 1-ways returning to Brazil though). So you can fly GRU-BCN for 35,000 Krisflyer miles + $62us roundtrip, or do a stopover in BCN and continue on to Asia (SIN, BKK, and DPS all usually price out the same) for 70,000 Krisflyer miles and $95us roundtrip [mileage quoted includes the online booking discount]. Definitely one of the best economy class options for such lonnnnng flights!

Keep on rockin, and cya at DCBKK!

Re: Leaving Flux/MTVN – More Cowbell

Congrats! What's next? You should have come out to Austin for SXSW and auditioned for bands with your cowbell! :)
