I don't think this is limited to Ad Blockers. I have an extension on the Chrome store that has only a few thousand users and back in 2015 somebody emailed asking to buy it. I said "maybe" and they asked me to confirm what GEOs the extension was popular in. After I did, they offered money and when I asked what their intentions were with it they said that they intended to resell it. So there is a market for buying and selling extensions that already have an install base.

The tap controls (turn-based style) that you can use when you pause the game really make this the best version of Lode Runner I've ever played.

The PCE and FC prototypes seem to have a larger state size of 14x11 compared to the GG 10x8 and the levels we can see all seem unique! I'd like to try one or both of those versions.

This is an amazing game! I'm currently up to round 67 and loving it. I'm playing it on N3DS by creating my own injected VC title. The benefits of homebrew! I do own the original UK cart of course.

10 SELECTIONS
Anyway, according to the Japanese manual over 150 levels were created by Tengen for the game of which we got 100. The "10 Selections" are actually levels that didn't make it through the Q&A process due to concerns over difficulty and possible player frustration. However, you can enter them into the game in MAP EDIT mode and play them!

BGM SOUND TEST
On the Options screen, press 1+Start. You see a cool pianola-styke keyboard whose keys light up as the songs play.

SPOILER ALERT
Completing each of the 100 selectable levels puts the game into Professional mode, where you have to match or beat the Mapper step-count for each level. If you do this, you see an alternative ending, and after that you get to play Secret Round 0!

Thanks for going you this much effort. I'm playing the game at the moment and it's a glorious version that every remake should aspire to. And it's encouraged me to continue digging/hackinv into one of my favourite games!

You're correct that anybody can sample a drum machine. Your second point is the problem.

Maybe some of the samples in this pack are from a copyright sample pack that was sold at some time and they are watermarked in some way? Without knowledge of the origins back to the source it's a real risk. You may choose to deny it, but it's there.

A sample pack that is created from scratch that has a licence attached would avoid all legal concerns.

In the review above it states that the only difference is the number and type of speakers inside the unit. The Symphony being bigger has more varied and numerous speakers inside it. As I understand it they both support the same software and connectivity options, including AirPlay from any app like Apple Music that supports it.

I disagree that this is "a couple of hours fun". Maybe if you ran through every level once and walked away? But there's typical Nintendo depth here - if you spend even a few minutes away from the quickest route through the game you'll discover really fine game design.
