I agree. The media should back off on the paparazzi and gossip bullshit, which only perpetuates these situations. But losers are going to write about celebrities no matter what. Could they be more responsible with it and have a serious discussion about the drug problems among young people in America these days? Yes. The argument that we should all just "leave them alone" isn't the right answer to an entire generation of actors and actresses killing themselves with drugs. The only writers I could see doing it the right way would come from someplace like The New Yorker. That will probably never happen.
