Slowly.</title><link>http://www.theflyingchange.com/2009/07/13/they-learn-slowly/#comment-12633859</link><description>&lt;p&gt;Hey Sam,&lt;br&gt;The future of music by your account will be pretty dull - the same established acts doing the rounds, admittedly a few new acts joining the 'in-crowd' each year...other than that - we're all gonna have access to bands that people like Live Nation and Ticketmaster support...is that it?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;OMG...Killers, Coldplay and all that MOR stuff that you can see in any stadium in any city practically anywhere in the world whilst drinking over-priced warm beer! Sure for some that's entertainment - I think for many others that just won't wash.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Gig Ticket prices increase but hey you get free downloads kids!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The picture painted seems bleak - that it will be harder to permeate for the new acts writing music right now...so only rich kids will end up making music?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;A la carte digital download sales in the UK &amp;amp; Europe are growing fast too, subscription models via ISP's are also forecasted to play a much bigger role too - not sure it's all doom and gloom for the good old fashioned song just yet.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Let's hope more promoters &amp;amp; more ticketing providers start up in business too eh! Slowly.</title><link>http://www.theflyingchange.com/2009/07/13/they-learn-slowly/#comment-12621181</link><description>&lt;p&gt;Hmm - mixed opinions on this post.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It's undoubtedly one route that digital music will take but not all musicians (and some fans) are going to like this as it really means that unless you're on a big tour your music could become kind of worthless...so if a band can't get a big support and the music lovers out there get used to free music with their gig tickets - how do bands not supported by a big national tour make money out of their music that they have worked so hard to create?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Good for fans, good for large established bands, great for ticketing providers but maybe less attractive to bands/artists that either don't tour or can't get a big tour.&lt;br&gt;GYEO&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description><dc:creator xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">getyourearsout</dc:creator><pubDate>Tue, 14 Jul 2009 04:07:24 -0000</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
