It would be a lose to not have those crosswalks. Brings attention to the pedestrian intersections. Adds some divinity to an important road.

I don't agree with this idea that "too many great local companies... deserve capital".

That is a value judgement that is indicative of bubble thinking. What is the metric you are using to divine "deservedness"?

We all know that capital for low probability start-ups is more closely related to people buying lottery tickets and hoping to win big.

I believe that businesses play an important role in the fabric of any city - large or small, great or struggling. However, I would prefer to spend my energy applying metrics of fairness and deservedness to social justice and other deeply human issues before worrying about how many high risk investment opportunities exist for wealthy people in a particular city.

These kinds of ransom note statements really bother me:

“If no one in Philly had invested in us and the city had let us down, we would’ve moved,”

I think there is value in committing to a place first. Assuming that people or cities owe you something is pretty selfish and short-sighted.

Another article detailing the value of removing highways in our cities. Great to see that the concern of increased traffic is not an issue:

A theory called "induced demand" proves that if you make streets bigger, more people will use them. It might be worth noting that in December we hired a woman that had just moved from San Francisco to be in Philadelphia. At P'unk Ave, we considered that a one for one trade. :)

We will, of course, miss Tim, but we are excited for him and can't wait for him to add the ability to "heart" a comment on Instagram.

Just a quick note on Ignite Philly, we sold out in 4 hours. As you noted that is only possible if people know what they are getting. You have to build up to that.

Beer #3 tonight, and it was 3 for 3. Seems like there it is hard for me to not like a good porter.

Amazing to think that we stopped making beer of this caliber for so many years. Glad we were able to preserve the knowledge to revive it.

I agree that Yuengling Porter is really a pretty overlooked beer. These past few beers have reminded my of that beer. In college, I used to buy a six of it for $4.20 and would always be blown away that a beer that good could be that inexpensive.

I got a little behind and ended up enjoying this last night. Shannon didn't like it so she passed back her half to me... I could not have been more pleased since I really enjoyed it. This beer's profie is right in my wheelhouse. Love it.
