I suppose by "feminist" I meant exhibiting power instead of just cowering and letting her man run around. She's taking it into her own hands. A very loose use of the term, I agree. And certainly, with other Loretta-penned tracks, we could use the term definitively... but I'm no critical theorist. It's just a good song, I hear you.

I love the part about when her man picks up trash, he puts it in a garbage can. Funny how all the guilt is completely placed on the harlot, not the husband- the most she'll say about her man is he ain't a saint, but somehow the song still maintains a feminist streak! Nice one.
