Excellent post and I have similar thoughts on the popularity of FriendFeed. I was really hesitant to get involved; I initially thought I wouldn't have anything in common with the techies, the coders, the IT types...and regarding those activities, I don't. But I made my peace with it and went with the stuff I loved: pop culture, music, film, entertainment, art, food, shirtless Australian rugby players in underwear. What I love about FF, is that is what you make of it. I loved going to SXSW this year and meeting people face to face. I love the meetups that we have over burgers and at each other's homes. I love using social media to be...y'know...social.
