There might be some household situations where hanging clothes might take some creativity, but dryers are relatively new inventions and not so long ago people only had clothes lines to dry their clothes on.

Re: Heavy Electric Pickups Are a Safety Concern, Says NTSB Head

Then I welcome it with all the other new EV startups.

Re: Heavy Electric Pickups Are a Safety Concern, Says NTSB Head

Hmm. This is a feature and not a bug. The vehicle is designed around efficiency and at this moment in time is the most aerodynamic production car on the market (until the Aptera is released). Of course, it's out of most people's budget at $260,000, but Lightyear has announced upcoming production of the Lightyear 2 with a similar weight and efficiency at under $40,000. We have better choices in the pipeline. None of them are trucks.

Re: Dragonfly Hyperscooter Is a 4-Wheeled Hyper E-Thing

"This is one of the biggest worries that people have about e-scooters—that they are riding on sidewalks and taking out seniors."

Re: Dragonfly Hyperscooter Is a 4-Wheeled Hyper E-Thing

Just for the record: When I was in Victoria, BC last August nearly all the scooter riders were senior citizens.

Re: Yvon Chouinard Just Gave Patagonia Away to Help the Environment

Maybe this is an indication that capitalism is beginning to go through some kind of transformation wherein it doesn't act like a virus and kill its host in pursuit of profit at all costs.

Re: America's E-Bike Revolution Is in Trouble

Exactly. Well said. We own a Tesla Model 3 with an advertised top speed of 145mph. I've never driven it faster than 72mph. Having a little extra power on an ebike gives you a bit of torque when you need to cross an intersection quickly or get out of someone's way. I also find having a throttle useful when taking off. It saves on the knees. Otherwise I don't bother with the throttle. I still like pedaling.

Re: America's E-Bike Revolution Is in Trouble

What am I missing here? I am routinely passed by push bikes when I ride my ebike. They get a kick out of it. It brings them a joy that they put one over on an ebike. I'm glad they can find comfort in such a simple thing. They are traveling on incredibly expensive ultra-light, carbon fibre frames with skinny tires at well over 20mph. I travel at between 12-15mph on my heavy framed, fat tired ebike. I can do 20mph if I want to push it, but I don't drive cars at max speeds so I don't ride my ebike that way either. Our positions are reversed if we're riding uphill, of course, which is where I need the help the most.

Lloyd, you need to take a deep breath and really reflect on what you're saying. There is no need to demonize ebikes. Yeah, there are a few guys who ride them like they were electric mopeds, but those few don't represent how the rest of us ride.

Re: Electric Bike Sales Are Booming, Thanks to High Gas Prices

It would be interesting to see how 250 watt EU regulation ebikes perform in more mountainous regions of Europe.

Where I live in the hills a 250 watt motor my guess would not be sufficient. My 500 watt strain as it is to assist me climbing in some instances and I'm pedaling with my best efforts. I don't care about speed. People riding push bikes pass me all the time. I care about torque. I get up the hills when guys 50 years younger on push bikes are off to the side sucking air.

Re: Scientists Develop Cheap Batteries From Earth-Abundant Materials

Cheers!

Re: Scientists Develop Cheap Batteries From Earth-Abundant Materials

Gloom and doom.
