Hi, this is indeed lightweight. But I have something that holds me back from using this great software. I am trying to add another button. It's to insert a video URL. The heavy lifting is done in my backend, but with this editor I just want to paste the URL and output it as a new string, inside a new tag as you can see from the two functions below. After inserting, which also sometimes works, sometimes not, strangely, but for sure it only works if I disabled the wysiwyg prior to saving the content:)

I could only package the images. Sorry. However, the jquery code has been corrected thanks to Chris. Please check it back again just in case it is the major problem.

Thanks for the catch. You are right. I missed the brackets and semicolon there. It should says:

});//function closed I missed.

}

I should be very carefull next time. Been away for quite some time even from my own site :) Hope you can get it done right.

Hi, Morep. I saw you could make it with googletalk IM.

Your Google IM takes a while to load the xml file in my slow connection, though. But the chat box is there. It just needs a little more CSS love to look nicer :)

I can understand if you are disappointed. You expected too much :)

I forgot to put another disclaimer with the latest post. It was a
series of post starting from the first drupal version with meebo, All
I wrote is about "theming" facebook-like. Note also the word "like".

In the first post which I supposed you must have missed since you
seemed to be more interested in wordpress, I explained that all I did
was just "theming", I touched nothing complicated like user
relationships, permissions, community building, ajax or whatever you
expected from a great application, but a very humble dumble theming.

I should have made it clear in every post I supposed.

I put a disclaimer in the first post of the series, saying it in a bold:
Disclaimer: This is not an attempt to match the app worth billion dollars.

There will be time to learn, time to complain, time to waste :) TS

Thanks again for reminding me about such expectations, and awfully
sorry for such a waste.

I can see that you also have a content-top region enable but doesn't
seem to show in the browser. Try to disable that block for some time.
Who knows it also produces an issue since I see this block contains
lots of inline javascripts which are not enabled in the garland
version.

I see, it is not the size that matters :) So please explain better next time :).

Ok, here are quick and dirty troubleshootings:

1. Have you tried to disable script.js via plaingrail.info line #40?
If not, which is what I see now from the source, add semicolon there
to disable:
; scripts[] = script.js

Don't forget to clear cache via admin/settings/performance and also
your browser cache by pressing F5 in the keyboard. We are dealing with
aggregated cached javascripts here. The script.js actually contains
some script to compact the search box. Since you are using another
javascript inside the same box, this, I guess, created a conflict.

See if that solves it. If it does, just stop here :)

2. If you still have trouble, proceed. Open your page.tpl, find line #242:

Comment this, or simply cut and paste it into the head tag exactly
after at line #87, so now the head will
contain:

</head>

Why did I placed the scripts at the footer, because it's a good
practise as suggested by yslow to help speed your site. But the
drawback is sometimes some javascripts simply don't work when placed
at the bottom page.

I'll make this placement easier to pick via theme settings page later
when I have some free time fo the next release. So you can toggle the
placement at ease.

Let me know if that solves the problem.

I have just checked other themes, and 15 is actually drupal default
for login and search box. So if you didn't override, you really need
the above mentioned override if you want google watermark to show
nice. Otherwise you can simply use CSS to widen the search input width
to 200px or so. See the original CSS in the theme for sampel.

Did you do any override to the input file size? If you did you may
want to increase the value from 15 to 20 or 25. If you need
fine-grained control for each size, you can debug to grab the name
with: print $element['#name'], and then do a switch with different
size for each.

This one below catches all:

/** * Set default form file input size */ function plaingrail_file($element) { // this is yours now, I guess: $element['#size'] = 15; and change it to 20 or 25, or better do a swicth as suggested above $element['#size'] = 20; return theme_file($element); }

Unless you or I miss the obvious, this indeed works al local as you
see from the screenshot and the meebo version. What seems to be the
problem? What not work? Can you be more specific to help me spot the

Hi, thanks for clarifying things.

I have stopped bothering about IE6 since microsoft announced they wouldn't support it anymore :) IE6 never supports fixed position, so you need absolute position with a little javascript. I have a working example with fixed position for IE6 here. Only the top banner works in IE6, though.

Apart from its notorious name, iframe would be the easiest way to go, I guess. But since I never reverse engineer from the very beginning, I can't explore any further :)

In my first facebook-like chat post series, I suggested using jquery.cookie, instead. Please tell us when you have it set up correctly. Thanks.

Hi Andrew,
I am not familiar with phpBB3. When I need a forum software, I ignored it due to its rigid table layout. So I never went further with it since then. But the codes, css and jquery, may actually be implemented in any software so long as you know how to call the library in their lingo.

The basic structure applies, see my previous comment here:

@karel: What CMS are you using, by the way?

As paragraph#4 above said: "I assume we are dealing with drupal 6", and luckily drupal has built-in jquery library, so you don't even have to call it yourself. The codes in "Prepare a javascript file" which do the horizontal sliding effect are jquery codes :)

Hi,
How simple is your html? I mean do you still use a CMS or framework, say CodeIgniter, or simply plain html or PHP? Some CMS or framework needs a little different treat to their lingo and coding practise, as you can see it the WordPress way. If latter and no need to have dynamic regions, then it should be even easier, as all the above codes may be applicable into plain html.

See "Start the actual theming" section:
just do not apply step#1,5,6,8, and make step#2 and #7 as simple PHP or html code
