By the time I got to the age of buying real music, tapes had kind of taken over, so my first album was actually on tape. And I can't remember for sure, but I think it was New Kids on the Block, Hangin Tough. I would have been about 9. And you're right...that David Cook performance of Billie Jean was AWESOME!

Funny you should mention that. Technically, I am not allowed to work in my PJs. It's actually a written rule. Now, my question is, how on earth are they gonna know? I even asked my manager that...she's the type that doesn't mind a little joking around. I won't work in my PJs, just because I don't like to be in them all day, but I will be putting on a t-shirt and some comfy baggy shorts. Can't wait 'til winter when I can wear my flannel "around-the-house pants" and a hoody :) And I'm going to LOVE not wearing shoes all day on these days.

Dawn, I so know what you mean about the liner notes. For a left-brained person like me, it was hard to read the lyrics with some sideways, some not, not to mention a handwriting-like font. But, that's about the only complaint i could come up with :) Wish I had "Shake", but I did my pre-order from Lifeway because I felt MusicToday was charging too much for shipping, so I'll have to miss out on that :(

I got so confused for a second when I opened my Tumblr dashboard. Saw the practicing for Leno post and assumed it was Mark, but then I realized it wasn't :) I'm setting the DVR tonight and will be picking my copy of the CD up after work, ripping it, and putting copies on both of my mp3 players.

Nah, it's pretty much just a handheld game device. Darn useful for passing time when traveling, waiting, or eating lunch by myself. I can waste hours playing sudoku, crosswords, and card games.

Jim has a whole slew of stuff on the blog about the two shows this weekend. One of them made me tear up where he talks about an ever so brief moment during the second show with Will. I found quite a few videos on YouTube that someone posted from the first show back. I highly recommend them. Picture quality stinks, but the audio is very good. Just search for Steven Curtis Chapman Lifest and they'll be at the top. Steven's scheduled to perform after the 8/2 Braves game. Been trying to decide for several months if I want to go. Guess it's about time to decide as it's only about 3 more weeks away.

Yep, I can go to the twitter website to post. But there's also supposed to be functionality so that you can send a message via and IM service. Since I'm logged into AIM almost all the time, I want to set this up. That way I can post straight from AIM without having to open a browser window. It will also allow me access while I'm at work. Stuff like Twitter is blocked at work, but Gmail is not, and I can log into AIM through Gmail, so I could post from work through AIM and Gmail. The message says IM functionality is temporarily blocked, so hopefully it will be back soon :)
With my mobile provider, text messages are 15 cents each, inbound and outbound. I don't think I'll be setting my phone up for this.

I actually missed the Nationwide race last night. I decided late in the afternoon to go check out a round robin tennis social and didn't think about setting my DVR. I got back with like 5 laps to go in the race. Noticed that Tony finished 9th, but didn't realize there was an incident early in the race. I'll definitely be watching tonight though.

I know what you mean. I'd love to see at least an hour of the show with both of them on stage together, sharing songs. They could go on all night and still not get them all in! I kinda hope they don't have an opening act...more time for each of them. I hope they record some the performances...this would make a great concert DVD. Jim's blog says dates are coming soon.

You're welcome. I have visited Jim's blog daily for the last couple of months. All the Chapman Channel blogs were part of my blog reading before, but I really appreciate that he's continued to keep us fans in the loop with how the Chapmans are doing.

Now Drivin n Cryin is one I've heard of. I have an older brother, so when I was a young teenager, I was very much influenced by what he listened to. Drivin n Cryin was one of his favorites and therefore, one of mine.

Thanks for the comment on my blog! The two I got tonight are the first ever for that blog. I had a pic or two of Mark up on those steps, so I just edited the entry to add it. I was up at the very front for the Third Day show, towards the left of the stage (near Brad's end). I had never been to NOJ before, but really enjoyed it. Saw this year it's moving to the former MGM Studios. I'll have to go again sometime. Having gone to school at UF, I still have a fair number of friends in the central FL area, so it's easy for me to get down there.

Sounds interesting. I may have to check this out, as McCollum Airfield is not very far away. I'd like to go just to watch the airplanes while I eat. Now here's a weird question for you...did you happen to notice if your wife's burger had a bun with sesame seeds? I'm always looking for places where I can get a burger out that doesn't involve sesame seeds (food allergies).

Well, actually, at one point or another both Busch brothers have been hated by the fans. But Kurt has laid kind of low lately, so he doesn't generate quite as much hatred as he has in the past. Kurt's the older one and drives the #2 Miller Lite car. Kyle's the younger and drives the M&Ms #18 car. I suppose you could say Kyle is the one everyone hates right now. I'm indifferent to him myself :)

So have you never seen the Braves up in the ATL? If you've got the time to come up, you should come catch a game here! I've been thinking about going to the August 2nd game. Steven Curtis Chapman is scheduled to do a show in conjunction with that game. I think it's after, but I can't remember for sure. According to his website, he's going to resume his shows beginning in mid-July, so hopefully he'll be able to do this one.

Ugh! Stick a knife in my heart why don't you! Just kidding. The race got called with something like 23 laps to go due to rain. Just before the rain, there was a caution where pretty much the whole field came in. Tony came into the pits in first, but Zippy called for two tires while about 10 other guys only took fuel and a few stayed out, so he came out around 15th. Less than 5 minutes later, there was another caution due to a wreck and then the rains came. Kurt Busch ended up winning, and after leading half of the laps run, Tony finished 13th, all due to what turned out to be a bad call. Zippy hasn't made too many of those though, so I guess I'll forgive him. Just hard to watch them lose yet another when they were so near the end. Sigh. Tony was very bummed in his interview, but he handled it quite well. Oh, to illustrate the weirdness of the ending, Michael Waltrip finished 2nd and JJ Yeley finished 3rd.

I did that with a coaster a while back. I didn't stop to think it was one of those thirsty stone coasters and could break. I now have one coaster with a big crack right across the middle.

Nope, it's been there since 1963. It's Marietta's landmark. All directions in Marietta can be given in relation to the Big Chicken. For example, my first apartment when I moved to Atlanta was 2.5 miles east of the Big Chicken. My second one was about 6.5 miles north of the Big Chicken. Made it easy to give people directions. I think it's white right now because it's been primed. There's been guys up there painting it this past week.

Yeah, I totally skipped TNT's hour and a half of pre-race. I went and hit some tennis balls for a while, went to a couple of stores, and went grocery shopping instead. I miss the days of the half hour pre-race.
Pit strategy has worked out quite nicely for Tony today. I don't know that he has a car capable of winning today, but looks like he should get a top ten, hopefully top 5 out of it.

It's all good. 4 starts and the kid's got a win, 2 top 5's, 3 top 10's, and 2 poles. Not bad. Only problem with tonight was that he probably annoyed a few of the drivers. It wasn't intentional from what I saw, just youthful exhuberance getting out of hand. Tomorrow they turn left and right. I can't wait!

That's pretty funny. Maybe we are sharing a brain :)
I didn't realize the trials were on this weekend until the last half hour of the men's this afternoon. I'm hoping to get to know who the gymnasts are so that come Olympics time in August, I know who's competing. I remember watching in 92 and 96 and feeling like I knew those girls. Made it more fun to watch that way.
I'm pulling for Joey Logano in the race, but right now he doesn't appear to be good enough to compete for the win.

I ran a bunch of errands yesterday and checked the magazine section at every single stop. 5 or 6 stops, only one even had Billboard, and they had the last issue, not the new one with Third Day.
