Interesting. We were thinking about Groupon and LivingSocial, but I didn't think Groupon would go for a promotion like this. They tend to pass on ambiguous service promotions.

No way. I didn't even receive an e-mail about this. I hope the Android version comes soon or I will be switching to an iPhone. The old school Blackberry version of this with the 'garage door opener' add-on was the worst thing ever.

Fascinating stuff. Honestly, I don't believe we've ever had a customer bring in printed listings they wanted to see from Yahoo - with Zillow it's frequent.

I think Zillow is a great resource and significantly better than Realtor.com in terms of content aggregation and usability. However, the recent price increases (free to $10 to $40 a listing, seriously?) are shocking and I don't think an automated robot calling our office to tell us about an e-mail we receive adds any value.

Just a thought.

I agree that most drip campaigns are like spam, but they are far more effective than doing no followup.

It all comes down to the execution - I have seen some pretty innovative custom solutions that put a lot more personality and salesmanship than the average run-of-the-mill mls drip.

Rentjungle is pretty cool. It reminds me of an early rental-only version of zillow. Being able to look at a graphic map really saves a lot of time and effort when looking for/pricing out potential properties.

Drew, fair housing laws and NAR ethics prevent Realtors from posting crime statistics and other neighborhood information on our websites and discussing these issues with clients.

Although I support Zillow and freedom of publicly available information, we are not able to play on the same field.

E-mail is more familiar with people. Plus it's definitely more private - who knows who reads what you post these days. Especially now that google is posting tweets in search results.

Great information! One of my buyers signed a contract yesterday (who needs to close asap because she sold her home) and I had enough foresight to use Dec 1 as the closing date. I hope she will be eligible for the credit - it's definitely worth trying to hold off closing a week for $6,500.

As for the credit overall - I think it's a waste of money. I have many buyers and the credit is an afterthought to them.

I bet it is true. I've always been an advocate of not posting personal details on facebook or linkedin. Answers to people's "secret" security questions for bank accounts and logins are right in their profiles. Rediculous.

That's horrible! What a random act of violence. You can never be too careful these days. I'm tempted to get a concealed weapons permit, but I don't know how much that would help in this case.
