After mounting the hives, I had to inspect the ControlSetXXX that had the Class {4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002bE10318} with the subkeys having DriverSec Broadcom controller and NetworkAddress values. Under this ControlSetXXX, looked up the key "Computer Name" and the key ComputerName was empty. I added a random name and I was able to boot up successfully.

Cheers!

Re: MadMACs: MAC Address Spoofing And Host Name Randomizing App For Windows

thanks, would you know of any tools that would allow mounting from another drive?

Re: MadMACs: MAC Address Spoofing And Host Name Randomizing App For Windows

Thanks for your response ... but do i need to run UBCD4Win on the machine where i cannot logon to generate the restore? Is there another way of generating the restore for a failed machine?

I have the hard drive connected to another mahcine using SATA-USB connector. I tried removing the mac-config.txt to see if it would allow a bootup but no luck so far.

Thanks

Re: MadMACs: MAC Address Spoofing And Host Name Randomizing App For Windows

I am really stuck now ... My PC is rebooting with blank computer name next to the domain option "(this computer)". I cannot logon to my domain either. Is there a way to restore and backout short of rebuilding my machine.

thanks
