As the host of a frozen food review show on Youtube, I have seen a huge lift in the past 6 months in brands engaging with food channels. The audience in these demographics have always been there but the interest and support from big food brands have made our content more relevant to all sorts of advertisers. It's a shame, however that Youtube has still not created a "Food" Category for their videos. To date, fellow food shows and I have had to categorize our videos under "Entertainment" or "People and Blogs". Hopefully this rise in popularity will change things!

I knew my review would be controversial. I eat dairy free all the time. That is not the reason I gave this meal a poor rating. I gave it a poor rating because it was the most confusing hodge podge of flavors I have ever eaten in a frozen meal. Thanks for your comment!

I would like to dispute your claim that Wolfgang Puck has "lackluster frozen food". In fact, his frozen food line is one of the best frozen pizza lines out there. I should know-- I review frozen food for a living. Now Guy Fieri's frozen line is something I would call "lackluster".

Interesting data based on Read it Later's 4 million users but I fear its a bit misleading. I would bet most of the users who ended up on YouTube did not click "read it Later" because they already clicked to subscribe to the video's creator channel.

Love this interview. Some really good tips here. I like the advice of building anticipation for the first video but I think very few people who have big inspirations for a webshow have that type of network. The biggest barrier to publishing webshows, I've found, is people tweak their show forever without publishing. A proper USP in a blue ocean market will allow you to publish sooner without running the risk of losing people. I like the strategy of moving up the iTunes charts but for webshows don't forget videos have shelf life well beyond the initial publish date. My first episode had 64 views in the first week. It now has 177,000. Just my $0.02
