I agree with Jollywhaler. There was no reason to write to Bush. He wasn't listening.
Can you see now what respect does? Folks respect Obama. They don't respect Bush and conservative ideals.
Maybe if you conservatives could come up with some original good ideas, folks would respect you too.

I agree 'rainyday'. My experience with Friday Harbor is the same as yours. Many folks I've met here are backwards and incestuous. One day they will realize they are living in another reality. A self qualified view that makes them look good and pious.

Thank you for your suggestion. I'm glad you two found each other. It sounds like you're both a little lonely. I and everyone else out there are glad you love America. I suggest though that you two try and support our president to combat the problems we have facing us. Your negativism and sceptic attitudes do not promote the positive energy we need to get through the crisis' the Bush administration left us.
When you two meet up make sure to thank me for it. When I started to reply to the blog question, there were only negative comments for the president.
I for one did not like the way things have been and I'm going to remain positive and stay away from bitter people who don't want to contribute but only whine and complain.

smrter2, I do not believe all conservatives are racists. I am talking about locally. The folks on San Juan Island have a prejudice. If you don't believe me ask all the black folks on the island or ask the mexicans on your island that aren't here legally or working for minimum wage. If you don't think there is a racial problem on San Juan Island then you are closed minded and unaware.
I can define you folks because I've experienced it there.
Don't you think there is room to improve your mindset up there?
You folks truly see things through racist glasses.

Conservatives are close minded. They only see what they think they want others to see. They have no time to see what others have to say. Most republicans are now obstructionists for the sake of saving face.
Do you really think the last 8 years have helped the country? The conservatives had all that time to set things right. And what did they do?
They put the country into bankruptcy and needlessly put our kids in harms way. They do what you are doing my friend; thinking they're smarter then everyone else.
