my eating a meat-free diet for so many years culminated in intestinal revolt. but honestly, i exaggerate: i eat pretty damn healthy still, just with chicken added back in the mix, which has resulted in a much healthier Nate. recognizing a diet that best suits one's body doesn't revoke my nerd license.

i'm also a big proponent of balance of exercising both good and bad habits, eating and otherwise, resulting in a more robust and resilient brainbody.

i didn't get that part of the show either until i had lived in LA. i loved it as a kid but surely for the sexy '70s ladies, perpetual car chases, and Garner's underdog charm.

I think as a kid I didn't get that the whole "California-ness" of the show was part of the concept, at least for east-coast viewers. (Living in a trailer -- they don't do that in Chicago, do they?)

After posting, I was worried that may've come off a bit dickish... Dry attempt at humor lost in translation to internet.

We have no doorfront recycling out here, either. Have taken to letting it pile up in the garage until it's expanded to a very solid truckload or more, before reluctantly taking it in - invariably in the pouring rain.

*drinks cup of coffee #4, smokes cigarette #10, eats very greasy pizza slice #3*

chicago has given me a very odd diet. hell, for the first 8 months i lived here there was no way to recycle. that was an equally interesting transition. but i'm glad to have back my Big Blue Bin as Guilt Receptacle.

hey, i don't exercise and smoke also. i make up for that AND the greasy diet by having a sauna in my room. it kind of works.

Fishing for interaction, huh? Okay. I'll bite. Recently, I've been more uptight than ever before regarding my eating habits. Only shop at co-op, no land meat, very little dairy, etc. good stuff. I make up for it by getting next to no exercise and smoking a lot of (ususally "organic" har har) cigarettes.

Got your package other day, BTW. Thanks much! I'm struggling to come up with ideas for worthy inclusions in a return package. We'll see what materializes.
