A parks dept volunteer has been clearing trails and marking bike paths in the Newberry Hill forest which I understand is mostly DNR. How has this person obtained permission to clear these trails and expose tree roots to the bikes that destroy them? Until plans are concrete on any changes this person should not be adding new trails.A developed park with ball fields and parking spaces will ruin the environement of seven ponds and surrounding wetlands in this area. I am disappointed that the County and Parks Dept see this as another opportunity to develop an extremely delicate area in the middle of the county. Once it is gone, its gone forever and once one kind of developement starts other follow until its all been drained . There are people who want it to stay natural and I think the money could go elsewhere to focus on quality not quantity in the park system. I have been told there is not enough money to take care of the parks already in existence. Julie Franco I will look forward to having some answeres at the Klahowya meeting.</p>
