People who do that are not honest.

It's to bad you were misled which cost you $50,000. Did you think it was impossible at the time?

Re: Is it Unethical to Persuade, Convince, or Influence Someone? I pondered this momentarily and came up with perhaps people think it as an invasion upon one's being, to inflict upon them unwanted opinion, when they think theirs is best.

Perhaps they shudder when they feel coerced into having to listen to insufferable bores.

Perhaps it is a good thing to persuade, convince or influence people, because many people need direction in their lives and welcome it. We could get into environment and the influence it has over all of us. We have all been influenced, convinced or persuaded as children growing up.

To persuade, convince or influence anyone, the bottom line is, the influencer has gained the trust of who they are influencing. The influencer has to sell themselves to who they are trying to persuade. The influencer would have to make sense in order to win over or convince someone. And if she didn't make sense, and still influenced others, what does that tell you about the people she is influencing?

As an adult we have the control of who we allow to persuade, convince, or influence us.

Re: Is it Unethical to Persuade, Convince, or Influence Someone? Intent to mislead is unethical.

Re: Is it Unethical to Persuade, Convince, or Influence Someone? He would only be able to persuade those who believed him and he wasn't obviously wrong to them.

But, I do hear what you are saying, and although I'm no LIAR, I believed with every fibre of my being that I am genius and wouldn't let up until everyone knew. I have since learned the truth about myself. Although I presented knowledge and facts people refused to acknowledge the true meaning of genius. It's the same thing with Enlightenment, people go on the premise that Enlightenment is something they strive to achieve, but it's not. You're either logical or you're not. Most people have no clue that Enlightenment is nothing more than the ability to reason, which is logic.

Re: Is it Unethical to Persuade, Convince, or Influence Someone? Is it unethical to persuade, convince, or influence someone?

Ans. It is not unethical to convince someone they are wrong. It is not unethical to influence anyone for the good, but it is unethical to influence them for the bad.

It is not unethical to convince someone they've made a good decision if it is one which benefits.

Re: Penticton Western News - WEB EXTRA: School board pulls plug on surveillance camera

This letter is aimed for Larry Little.

Several weeks ago I tried to obtain a library card at the Penticton library because my previous one expired and was not in the system. One of the customer service reps. took all my information and gave to me a library card. A month later I went to use my card, and the representitive Barb told me the card was not registered in the system. I asked her why not, then proceeded to tell her that this was an error on the libraries part.
She then told me I needed Identification to start over again. I then reminded her, that she already saw my identification when she gave me the library card. She went on to say rules are rules blah blah blah, while creating my frustration which could have been prevented had she taken into consideration she already saw what Identification I had at the time.

She advised me to bring in two pieces of Identification, one with my address, and one picture id. I left in a huff, because she was just creating trouble for me. Two weeks later I brought in my birth certificate and one piece of Id with my address on it and an old photo which you could clearly see was me.

The woman confronted Barb, Barb looked over at me, and deliberately refused my Identification for the third time. This woman succumbed to lowering her status in my eyes. Some people should not be working in customer service, unless they are trained for it.

I realize Identification is to protect my interests, however, this woman was deliberately creating frustration for me. Why wasn't my birth certificate and photo id. not accepted at the Penticton Library to replace a card they already gave to me a month before?

People will create problems for people and it's usually always women in the workforce. I have never had any problems with men in public relations.

What happened to good old customer service--friendly and courteous. This woman judged me, by what ever was going through her mind. And I don't care about that, but what I do care about, is being treated respectfully. It seems people are creating problems for people for the sake of creating trouble for others

I mentioned that I would be writing this letter to Larry Little. The aim for this correspondence is to ensure this doesn't happen to me a third time. I deserve an apology from Barb, considering she was the one responsible for denying my identification a second time.

Thankyou Larry Little for your attention to this matter
