Thanks for posting this. I didn't know about these tapes. Maxwells was the best place to see bands. I unfortunately just missed the heyday of the 80s scene there, but spent most of the 90s (and some of the early 00s) at that venue seeing many of my favorite bands. Hopefully some of my most memorable shows are available to download.

Shunji Iwai is one of my favorite directors. I need to see this. I was a fan of Hana + Alice, but it wasn't his strongest work by any means. I am curious to see how this is in relation to the movie.

Jeff Noon has always been a favorite since I first stumbled upon Vurt. This is fantastic news. I wish it was available in other formats than just the proprietary Amazon one. I will try to wait it out, but I might just need to DL it via the kindle app.

I find it interesting that only Automated Alice seems to be available in the iBooks store. I would easily re-buy his whole catalog as ebooks.

I'm a huge fan of the show and of Dan Harmon. I am hoping that the new runners can keep what Harmon started going without changing too much of it, though I am realistic and know they will need to add their own touches to it.

David Guarascio and Moses Port were executive producers on the american remake of The IT Crowd, so...

WRT the "hokiness": I think they felt they needed to do something that would fit the medium. Meaning, something that they wouldn't have been able to do on TV due to budget restraints etc. So to me the implications of the arc were far more than they needed to be. And without actually having a true Big Bad after the Twilight reveal they needed to do something big.

I hate to be negative with the series because it really did have some great, great moments. And I am eagerly awaiting S9 and the Faith & Angel series.

I think you are a little too tough on Jeanty. Most of the time I like his art for the series. It gets shoddy at times, I won't deny that, but I am also pretty impressed with what he has done as well. A lot of the characters are recognizable, but they don't come across as caricatures or traced. They have a style of their own.

Of course, when he misses, he misses and your left struggling to figure out who the fuck it is in the panel.

Overall I liked S8, but I had some issues with it. Primarily the Twilight/Buffy thing in the previous volume. It got a little too hokey with the superpowers and creating a universe thing.

The part where you let out the audible gasp... did not expect that.

Hope my little bit helps. I spent a ton of money when one of my cats got sick, unfortunately we had to put her to sleep but I would have shelled out 10,000 more just to get more time with her. They are your babies whether it's 3 days or 20 years.

That hat is really fucking stupid, but sadly James you missed out on AR's worst quality. His taste in shirts. Next time, require him to where one of his buttoned shirts. It's just awful.
