For those concerned about the slow HDD, don't be. A high-end SSD (like Samsung 840 Pro) can be installed easily and the total cost of this powerful laptop + SSD would still be much much than a MacBook.

Oh, and the SSD is faster than the MacBook's SSD, the graphic card is much more powerful than a MacBook's and the battery life is the same as a MacBook - nearly 12 hours on power-saving and 7+ hours on normal use. So no, MacBook ISN'T better. In fact, I tested it - this laptop renders videos and interior 3D scenes much faster and also stitches 100 mega pixel panoramas much faster than a MacBook does. Even for normal usage - the Photoshop performance or MS Word performance is better. MacBook is a premium product with a very hefty price, but this performs better in a REAL world scenario and costs waaaay less. Also, most latest games run on full HD - graphic card is a beast!

Use the laptop first, before commenting on random reviews.

+1. Really good tutorial. The effect is almost spot on like the real thing. Saving it as an action helps a lot! I knew about it, I just never thought it could be this helpful. You made me save many regularly used actions :)

P.S. To all the people complaining - every step is explained perfectly. But if you still can't get it, check other tutorials on how to use Photoshop first, before posting negative comments. No one is gonna spoon-feed you all the time.

It's good that they added group chat.. but I deleted whatsapp. It took too much battery + can't control when it connects to the internet. I know that's the whole point of a chatting software like BB chat.. but it would have been better if you could disconnect whenever you want.

the N86 camera has really interesting specs but no matter how the pics turn out in low-light.. Xenon flash is something entirely different. Sometimes it's the best thing that happened to N82. There's just one prob with N82.. the battery life! Other than that.. I'm still amazed by my N82. N97 is just an upgrade over the 5800. The touch screen is pretty good but not my device. N86 is a slide phone. I'm really waiting for the next sleek candy bar device WITH a Xenon flash and longer battery life.

the black list for apps is very useful.. this app saves like what.. 2 seconds of our lives? lol.. but yeah, at times it is useful. However, there's one small problem. I type really fast using my N82. I mean REALLY FAAASSSTTT.. and with this app running in the background, the typing gets slow.. like I press three buttons really fast one after the other and it only types two letters. I closed the app and I can type normally again.. it's not a problem for most people.. but a small problem for me. overall.. this app is nice.

They aren't even trying to improve the new models.. they're making them worse. N82 is an excellent device. I don't think I'll buy the N97.. although I'm looking forward to N86. I'm not gonna buy it obviously (My SIM card loves my N82 lol) but I wanna see if all this hype about N86 becoming the next camera phone is true or not. Personally, I've tried Samsung Innov.. even though it's 8MP, I think the pic quality is like N73 images.. yeah, no use of 8MP!

I changed it back to original N series theme and it seems to be working fine. I'm not sure if the problem is my memory card or your theme, but something IS making everything slow

I dunno.. I really like these themes. These are so far the best themes ever. But the N86 one (posted here: http://is.gd/rBiG) was better. I mean, the only prob with it was the top bar. Now there is extra gloss or white stuff on menus.. and for some reason, my phone is responding a bit slower than usual on this new theme? The one posted earlier had no probs.. but this one seems to be making my phone a bit slow. Maybe you put images of high quality? or I don't know.. anyone else have the same prob?

well, first 8MP phone from Nokia.. and after a quality release like N82, it's bound to be good.. I guess we all just don't want our precious N82 to be outshined by a newer model. It's been out there since November 2007, yet no other phone I've seen produced better pics or functionality. Maybe it's time for a new device to rule.. yup, I guess only time will tell.

This theme looks really awesome on N82.. especially on the black one

I had some issues with the memory card slot.. so I sent it for repair.. now it's back, formatted, and the new version v31.0.016 installed. I checked the reviews here.. I wasn't exactly happy about it, till I checked it out myself. here are my results (tried responding to almost every prob mentioned above)

~I found my N82 to be a bit faster. Not a big change, just a little bit faster than before. I think this speed change is only because the phone is formatted and almost like new.

~The Xenon flash seems a bit brighter.. not sure if it's an update, but the pics remain the same awesome quality at night even with the brighter flash.

~Maps working without any problems.. no hangs. it doesn't go online though.. keeps saying "no internet connection. go to tools> option>go online" everytime you try the same thing. The GPS was slow in catching the reception at first, but now it's normal.. maybe a bit faster than before. Sports tracker working (both old and new versions), didn't try installing Garmin yet, but I'm sure it'll work. So far, I had no probs with any apps working.

~not sure.. but is it charging faster? maybe my imagination.. but battery life definitely improved a bit.

~yeah.. the log shows only the mobile icon instead of different icons for different contact numbers.

~That extra "search: Internet and my content" is taking two lines and there's an extra "share online" on the main standby view. not a big issue but I prefered a cleaner standby view.

~The accelerometer is less sensitive now.. it's both good and bad: good part is that it won't switch the orientation with a small tilt in the mobile. bad part is that now it's taking longer to switch to landscape mode and back.

~the bad part is the speakers. Everyone says it's louder now. that's true.. but it's louder only because they decreased or almost removed the bass from the speakers. it sounds loud on high volume, but it's without any bass.. switch it to 10% volume and compare with older version and you'll know what I'm talking about. I could hear the bass and beats perfectly before.. now it's just too shrill and loud. The sound using headphones is clear though.. same as before.. maybe a bit better but not much change in that.

~Another bad thing I found was that the application "Switch" in Tools > Utilities is not working. This is a very useful app for transferring all data from any nokia phone to another even if the other phone doesn't have the app. I needed this app, but it's not working in v31.

other than that.. all apps still work, we can still install older apps without any problem. just one thing though.. as soon as you update, format the phone using *#7370#. my uncle didn't format and now he's having some prob with the messaging app.. after formatting, it seemed fine.

conclusion: the update works fine only if you do it at a Nokia Service center. There's no guarantee how it'll turn out if you try updating yourself.
