Already have my Smith Westerns and Futurebirds tickets, but would love Morning Benders + Twin Sister!! Oh, and so far my favorite live show this year has been Megafaun. Still can't believe I was able to get that close and see them in a venue as tiny as Club G. Might not ever happen again!!

I know! And how good is this version of "I'd Have It Just The Way We Were"?? I loved it on Fits but wow, this one sounds like it's... falling apart. In fits and starts. And trying to pick up the pieces as it goes. Gah. I'm in love.

Agreed - I've long loved this band. Jam band meets garage rockers who aren't afraid to funk a little soul. Damn, that's one fine sweet spot!! Too band they're skipping WI on their fall tour...

Awesome! That is exactly what a mixtape is supposed to do - introduce you to some new bands that you might just fall for. I love it! So glad you found something you liked and yeah, I've been logging some serious time with Gigi too lately.

heck yeah! I LOVED Jem and the Holograms as a whole (I used to have star earrings I'd press and say "Synergy" just wishing I could morph into someone awesome). But I always did prefer the Misfits. They had more of an edge and I always wanted to be a bad girl.

I don't use iTunes so I can't really help you there but... you could try this.

1. Take the tunes you want in your mix, copy them and paste them into a new folder. These aren't the original files - that way you don't lose those or the original taggings.

2. Using MP3Tag, retag those copies. Put your album title and stuff in there and save 'em.

3. Do whatever you do in iTunes to make stuff work. Sorry, i can't be much help there.

At least by creating copies of the files, you still have the originals in their proper albums and you're free to mess with your own stuff all you'd like. I do use playlists with Window's Media player. Once I have the mix I want, I find the originals and make copies (should've put that in my initial instructions!!) and stick them into their own mixtape folder to mess with.

I'm pretty sure Yellow Fever's self-titled album came out in Jan - that is one seriously awesome album. Just in case it didn't, at this point I'd have to say Gigi's "Maintenant" is topping the list With the new Horse Feathers and Plants and Animals coming out next week, I can't make any promises it'll stay at the top.
