I figured the worst that would happen is she'd replace it, which she'd already resigned to doing.

I was in awe with how simple it was. A switch, a rectifier, a diode, and a motor-driven mass. All encased in plastic and rubber. I don't know if there were any additional electronics within the motor assembly. I assumed it was just the motor and gears.

With the switch on full power, your AC from the wall goes through the rectifier to be turned into DC to drive the motor. It is ON.

Flip the switch and the AC goes through the diode before hitting the rectifier. What this does is shut off the electricity to the motor for half a cycle. This gives a more muted, yet rougher, feeling as the motor is technically running only half the time, but it's doing so 60 times per second (with North American power).

I imagine it'll eventually burn out or shake apart, but it's built very well and should last more than long enough to justify its price.

In the end, I put hers back together and it worked perfectly. All it needed was time to dry.

Re: Consensual Non-Consent Conundrum

Dan has had a guest previously discussing the minefield a "gold star" pedophile (one who has the urge, but has never acted upon it) has to navigate in seeking help. In the USA, at least, just opening up to a mental health professional could lead to drastic negative consequences which only further alienate the person from even trying to seek help again.

Having fictional/fabricated stand-ins would seem (despite the "ick" factor) to be a way to channel those undesirable urges to something which won't be hurt in the process.

Honestly, I don't have a good answer here on how it could be implemented without collateral damage. Even with what I believe to be a reasonable response to this discussion, I fear getting downvoted into oblivion.

Re: Consensual Non-Consent Conundrum

I think it took me decades to learn that. Part of my problem is neurodivergence, so it took me a long time to even get this was a pattern I needed to recognize. I did eventually learn, but there was much frustration along the way.

While I can be forgiving of his frustration, I still want to smack him upside the head and shout "learn from my mistakes so you don't have to make the same ones!"

Thankfully, Dan said basically what I was thinking in a much calmer manner.

Re: Sweet! "At a friend's house" is more than sufficient for a 9 year-old to comprehend. If any further explanation was needed, it could be they lost track of time and it was safer for dad to spend the night at the friend's house.

If mom's not worried in the telling, there's no reason daughter should think anything is wrong or weird.

Re: Sweet! I'm a man and the other two were women. When we had sex, we took turns being the center of attention. For the women, a vibrator was usually involved while the other woman and I would caress various other areas of the "target's" body to enhance the experience.

When it was my turn, I would usually penetrate one while the other would do things like caress my butt and scrotum. Occasionally, I'd get a four-hand handjob which was quite nice.

It worked pretty well for us while we were together so no one was left out during the experience.

Re: http://youarenotaphotog.tumblr.com/post/10986486204

Not like you need any MORE comments on this, but...

The black and white image just doesn't look all that great. Not enough contrast (too washed out).

I began my formative years taking shots in B&W and developing my own negatives and prints. They look FAR better than this result (and, yes, even considering I was starting photography when I did so).

It IS possible to properly convert a color image into B&W, but these people are failing all around. The spot color (and its bleeding problem in this image) are just "icing on the cake" as it were to this disaster. I haven't even started with the pose. I'm shocked the image was selected for posting from that alone.

Re: http://youarenotaphotog.tumblr.com/post/10888581158

I'm sure I fell into the trap of most and thought this was a non-English article on the subject when I finally spotted the headshot.

I'm still waiting for your posts on good examples of spot color. I feel I'll be waiting a long time for them.

Re: You Could Get With This, Or You Could Get With That

I'm going to agree with the other comments that the likelihood points to your existing cordless phone. I've seen it happen and changing the channel on the wireless router didn't usually help when it was a total blackout.

However, I disagree that you have to buy a different cordless phone to test this theory. You could possibly borrow an old, corded phone from anyone to verify that is the problem before spending the big bucks on a new cordless phone. Even if you had to invest money in this, Wal-Mart carries cheap, corded phones for less than $5. You might even pick one up in a garage sale or thrift store for less.

Oh, and I strongly doubt that your wired router is a problem in this. You'd be having other problems not related to phone usage if it were.
