I find most of these just walking past clover patches with the dog in the afternoon. I look as we walk; the three-leaf pattern being very distinctive, when there's a 'blip' in the normal pattern, I stop and look closer, and BAM - there we are. I've found close to twenty since last summer. Found a five-leaf last year, but it proved too fragile to get home from the other side of the pond (had nothing to slip it into for the trip, and they wilt quick. I was a sad clown.)

Ma says she can do this too - it's all pattern recognition. Remember her hours with puzzles?

I don't know if you did - he only came by the house on one occasion I can recall, when he dropped me off after our friend Jeff's wedding, probably... summer '89? Were you in Cranston by then? I need ginko in liquid form.

But - yeah. It's actually become a big silly grin for me today. Remind me to tell you the Crosby CD story when I see you next week.

You wrote me once (admittedly years ago) in a letter that if I wanted, I could pick you up some traditional Christmas music, not the music like “Bruce Springsteen slaughters ‘Santa Claus Is Coming To Town’”. So do you mean you'd like to know when you said that (I think I was in Texas, so that's about 9000 years ago), because your tastes have changed? Or when he recorded it (September 1975 at C.W. Post College on Long Island) because you're perversely interested about when one of the great Christmas interpretations was recorded?

And I think Madonna was still in her faux Marilyn phase then - which still doesn't explain why she sounds like she's doing a vocal riff on Cindy Lauper (whose duet with Frank Sinatra on "Santa Claus is Coming To Town" could be your NEXT favorite version...)

Bruce Willis made TWO albums: 1987's The Return of Bruno (which was a tie-in to his HBO special, and the 1989 follow-up If It Don't Kill You, It Just Makes You Stronger. The first single off the first album, "Respect Yourself", peaked at number 5 on the Billboard charts. MTV helped.

Both albums are in the R&B vein, and they actually don't suck (take that, Bill Shatner).

I've gotten multiple McCain roboslanders, mailers from both sides - but if the call that keeps ringing and hanging up the house phone - including at one this morning - is a robodialer someone left running, empty, in a sense fo defeat, I'm going to din it, and they're going to eat it.

Okay - admittedly, it's another Bootleg Series volume that looks like scatter-shot outtakes (when really, there are a couple of tours that could use a solid treatment - though after the Rolling Thunder Review, how could anything else compare?) - but I've really enjoyed his last few albums, especially "Time Out Of Mind" and damned if the unreleased version of "Mississippi" isn't a nice alternate arrangement...
