yes. my first gen nano got a little weak in the knees so i bought a aftermarket case cracker/battery kit and together with some solder and snot, switched it out. in ipod years shes a fossil but still works fine as do my others.

The learning curve is intuitive. 2 weeks ago I bought my computer most un-savvy wifey a Macbook for work to replace her busted PC and lied thru my teeth saying "honey, all computers are the same". She believed me and after a few days was doing fine with the basics after calling me every profanity in the Japanese language. Her most favoritist thing about the new 'pooter is the illuminated apple on the cover.

i have an itouch, not a blackberry. i use the keyboard mainly at home when i have to run from my computer to the can or in bed as an inbetween. for me, the peck curve has been long but do-able.

fetus has only a lowly itouch but i wholeheartedly agree with your 'greatest mobile device ever conceived" statement. as softy frees the 16gb and with a 32gb coming this summer i may swing both ways as may many others. simultaneous processing, improved battery life and cut and paste are sound predictions but i also wish for external buttons similar to the volume that would allow you to pause/foward media without having to friggin log back in every time. also a nice fold out bottle opener on the case back would be appreciated.

my favorite adult beverage apps are flick fishing, bowl light, heavy mach, wings, and skycoaster. hands down the best utility app i found so far was the kotoba j/e dictionary because of easy entry, kanji breakdown, impressive listing of the skebe, and best its free!
