I use Saved.io - which I built. Similar to pinboard except it doesn't require a bookmarklet or extension to use.

I loved my time in Chiang Mai. My only regret was that I didn't stay longer. I was based outside the old fort in the suburbs. It was very chill and quiet and it was nice becoming a "regular" at the local eats.

They said tv journalism and then they said the Internet did the job. Of course both ridiculous. The iPad is new, but it's just another medium that needs some work adjusting to. I think most if not all news outletsmon the iPad have got it wrong at the moment. But I think they are learning and this year we will see some major improvements to journalism on the iPad.

Have I ever seen a clean, bare creative space? You've made quite an assumption. I have seen many a clean, "minimal" creative space. While this article is based on theory, i'll share my own personal experience.

I am a creative. I make my living designing things. My desk has nothing on it my creative space is very blank. Is this cleanliness just a phase I'm going through? Of course not. This is how i work. It's not a novelty. And I encourage my employees to do the same.

Minimalism is not something new. I encourage you to look back in history and you'll discover how many creatives actuallychose to live a minimalist if not somewhat neurotic lifestyle.

Not long. The idea of commenting, tweeting or just connecting (its not just commenting) with the Tech blogs was simply to let them know I existed. When it came time to launch the product I was a "friendly face".

I've never had a problem with any of the mockups I've done in Photoshop - never has there been a situation where it couldn't be recreated in css/html. I good designer knows the limits of photoshop.

Your approach is similar to whats done at 37signals - although it seems to work well, I don't think it produces the nicest looking apps.

I understand Facebook wanting to protect the trademark and they probably need to do this. Its sad, because its only promoting the brand and doing it good.

I still have an old Nokia phone which I only use when I'm in Australia. When travelling, which I'd like to think is most of the time now, I carry just an ipod touch and use Skype. I don't think I could handle having a alert with every twitter mention - I get distracted way to easily

I love the connections I have made through my startup - communicating with other entrepreneurs is seriously the best part of my job. Do the nature of my industry, many of the best connections happen privately through email - very rarely am I contacted by other founders through Twitter or Facebook.

there are also much better erasable pens that work with heat sensitive ink (friction removes the ink)

I run multiple web apps, a blog, build minisites and sell a mailing list. I do understand the need to focus, but it is possible to run multiple projects - it does require a completely different approach to working and income.

Don't get me wrong, I understand your points - but I think your argument is to black and white. There is a lot of grey in between.

My business is a "lifestyle business" in the sense that it supports my world travels and nomadic lifestyle. It was built to do this. But that doesn't mean i'm not aiming big. Will I change the world - yes, there is no doubt in my mind.

Great article Ash. I would be interested in learning about the science of stereotypes - because I realized, while working with Children, they too stereotype people, without realizing it or even knowing what "stereotype" means. The whole notion is so engrained in our society I see no end to it.

I'm pretty sure most people don't use Facebook to get their news. However, im sure a bunch of people will use Digg as a news reader.

Facebook is more of a twitter rip-off than Digg simply rearranging the way they display news

For me, outsourcing made a huge difference to the way i did things. I can't imagine how I managed before.
