Once I know what my definition of success is, I focus on actualizing it as often as I can.

When I experience success, I'm often feeling joy/happiness,, and vise versa; whenever I'm feeling joyful/happy, I'm likely to be actualizing -at least one of- the experiences that defines success to me. Accomplishment/achievement & recognition/validation (with $850m) may or may not beTHE experience of success for everyone. There are many accomplished achiever$ who live miserable lives and don't even accept or consider themselves successful. On the other hand, a social worker may consider her/himself a success when s/he connects in a meaningful way with another human and make a difference in that person's life based on that interaction.. others may consider success to be good husband/wife or good parent or a peaceful yogi...

What is your definition of success?

Once I know what defines success for me, I'm mindful to be creating those experiences as often as I can (or as you said: do "more" of)

Congrats! I believe its great that you followed your truth -even if it was painful at times- and asked yourself these tough questions. who was it that said something like "the unexamind life is not worth living" (;
