You write, and I quote, " Most of the softball players in the Ivy league couldn't play D2, the only reason they are in the Ivy is DADDY has the money and wants to run around town bragging his daughter is playing D1". First it's trashing the coach, now it's the legacy of some stars from the past (don't know the current ones ) who were for sure highly recruited players in various conferences like the Pac Ten, and would have fit right in, but choose the ivy league, such as Columbia's Marisa Marconi, Courtney Ryan, Maiya Chard-Yaron, Jackie Adelphio just to name a few, as were players from other Ivys, such as Erin Snyder, Schass, Maddick, Lauren May, Khosravi and many many others too numerous to name. We have been to many many college softball games for many years and can assure you that the Ivy league is not the worst softball in college softball, and the RPI and strength of schedule statistics throughout the years certainly back this up. Perhaps you mean among the most difficult parents in DI college softball. To say that the only reason "most: softball players are in the ivy is that daddy has the $/ and for his bragging rights...and the Ivy is the absolute worst conference..... it's either sour grapes--perhaps your DD didn't have the talent and brains to get in, or well, I'll leave it at that...

Re: Softball closes out 2009 season with three losses | Columbia Spectator

Funny, as long as I have known this very same coach, she seems to bring out the very best in kids. Your personal agenda here Daddy Ball is obvious. That you choose to do this to your daughter is telling as well. Sports Brass not listening to the parents complaints...this is Division I softball, not bobby sox.

Re: Softball closes out 2009 season with three losses | Columbia Spectator

Disappointing finish for CU baseball too but disgruntled players and /or their parents don't trash the coach, as the convenient scapegoat. Sure Columbia softball fans would like to see more W's, but look within-- maybe it is related to player talent, or too few superstars, inexperience, the need for more team dedication, injuries, parents who trash the coach because their DD doesn't play enough, and then it rubs off on the player(s) or a multitude of other dynamics about which we are unaware..... I don't know..but don't put this on the coach as if it would have come out differently if only there were another coach. At your workplace do they trash you publicly? I know this coach and she is good. You guys sound like you're back in 14 and under and your daughters can do no wrong. Even if they strike out, make errors, don't perform, blame it on the coach!

Re: Lions close regular season against Penn | Columbia Spectator

error/wrong article
