Well, I try to consider new evidence, but I'm sure, sometimes I fall victim to my own biases, just as everybody does. But, you may have misunderstood my comment. I didn't think NECSS should have uninvited Prof. Dawkins (and I'm glad they later reversed that decision.)

My hunch is that FB is sending the raw page content through an HTML parser w/o first fully evaluating the embedded script the way a browser would do during rendering, If that's the case, you'll have to generate the desired meta tags server-side to ensure that FB sees them.

Question/idea: If put two different listicles on the same host domain, won't safePrefs() overwrite each other? If so, it'd be nice to key localStorage by a using a per-listicle name.

We are not a theocracy... yet. And I certainly hope we do not become one. But it's undeniable that there are powerful forces pushing in that direction.

No, it may not be so bad, but what does it really buy you? You're in the store, walking around. You can (and will) be seen by cameras and (facial recognition software) anyway. Turning off your phone before entering a store seems to me like putting sunblock on one arm before going swimming.

I applaud the valuable work done by veteran groups, and on that point, the TIME article is very well done. But I’m disappointed that Joe Klein used his cover story article to take a gratuitous (and factually incorrect) swipe at secular humanist groups. There’s enough bigotry in the world.
