What's the difference between Disqus Comments and Disqus Profile?
Disqus Comments is a service for publishers. If you have a blog or site, this is the service for you to add a powerful comment system and moderation tool. Disqus Profile is for everyone else who posts comments on sites. Users of Disqus Comments must have a Disqus Profile in order to sign in.

Does it cost any money?
Both Disqus Comments and Disqus Profile are free to use. For large and/or commercial sites, we now offer Disqus VIP — the premium service built on top of Disqus Comments. Disqus VIP is aimed at larger publishers, commercial publishers, or sites that require even deeper integration. Check it out if you're interested, but the core of Disqus Comments will always be free to use, no matter how big your site is.

Who owns the comments?
You do. Disqus does not make any claims to the ownership or control of the comments. If you use Disqus Comments, you will always retain control and ownership of any content that is present on your website.

What languages does Disqus Comments support?
Disqus Comments supports dozens of languages in addition to English. To change your comment system's language, go to Settings and select General.

I am testing Disqus Comments and the comments do not show.
If you are trying to use Disqus on website that is not online or accessible (such as on a development or staging server), you must set the
disqus_developerJavaScript override. Read the docs on JavaScript overrides for help on using this. -
I am not able to log into my Disqus Profile
On FireFox:
- On Mac, go to Firefox > Preferences from the menu bar.
- On Windows, go to Tools > Options at the top of the window.
- Click the Privacy tab. Check Accept Third Party Cookies as shown below.
On Safari:
- Go to Safari > Preferences > Security tab
- Check Always accept cookies
On Chrome:
- Look to the top right, and find Wrench > Options > Under the Hood > Cookie Settings
- Check Allow All Cookies

How do I import my comments from WordPress or Movable Type?

How do I import my comments from another comment system?
Disqus Comments supports importing from IntenseDebate and JS-Kit. Go to Tools and select Import / Export.

Can I export my comments from Disqus Comments?
Yes, you can always export all of your data from Disqus. Go to Tools and select Import / Export.

How do I remove my account?
This option is found at the bottom of your Account options.

How do I remove a site from my account on Disqus Comments?
Go to Settings and then click General.

Why am I blocked from commenting on [some site]?
Disqus only provides the commenting tools for sites; we do not make any decisions on who is blocked or what can be posted. You will need to contact the site directly.

How do I change my name as displayed on sites when I comment?
You can change this by going to My Information.

How do I unsubscribe from comment notification emails?
If you are logged into your Disqus account, you unsubscribe under Notification options. If you do not have an account, you can click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the emails.
