I agree. I mean, there is a small percentage of black folks that will put down other black folks who want to work to be successful in goals for academic and career success. I have dealt with some of those folks as well. However, I am not sure that those people with that mentality holds other successful blacks down. Just my opinion.

I think that Charles Barkley has a point in this argument. I agree that we have to deal some of the tomfoolery of some black folks out here, who have a problem with successful black folks. However, with a strong support group from family and friends, that person keeps on doing what they need to do. Also, about that story on Russell Wilson, where some of his teammates said that he was not Black enough. I heard either today, or last night, that story was made up. I will say that the author of this article does make some good points as well.

That last statement about it being the 2nd or 3rd most followed sport, I am not sure. I think that there is still a strong fanbase for both baseball and basketball. I do agree with you on the fact the MLS is not up to the level of the EPL, La Liga, or the Bundleliga, but it is slowly becoming a viable league. However, I have to disagree with you that soccer will become a sport that will be the 2nd or 3rd most followed sport in America. Too much history with sports like baseball, and basketball.

I have to be honest, I have enjoyed many of the comments made by some folks. I like soccer, but I also to realize that it may never reach the popularity of the big 3 sports (baseball, football(American) and basketball). However, I believe that there is a potential fanbase for the sport in America.

I understand both sides of the issue. Let's be honest, we as Christian men, we want a woman that looks good and is appealing, and have a great shape. However, I can say that on side, I can see their point as well. I think that we have to realize that not all Christians are judgemental; however, there are going to be people that are going to have a different perspective than someone like Yolanda Adams or Erica Campbell.

Interesting article. I agree that there needs to be a conversation about Christianity and sexuality. However, I also think, there needs to be a conversation about having differing opinions about a number of topics.

Personally, I was not talking about this person's comments, but from comments that I have seen from the last few days on Facebook, and a number of websites, talking about Erica Campbell's dress.

I grew up in the same denomination as both Erica and you. I am not sure that women wearing dresses, that look like Christmas trees is that distracting, to me at least. I do see the point from some Christians about the dress. However, for me she did looked good. The thing that I think people need to get away from, is that just because someone was critical of what Erica worn on that photoshoot, does not mean they are jealous or are haters.

I am not sure that I see any sexism in your comments. In fact, I have no problem with much of what you were saying. Personally, I did not have a problem with what she worn, but I understand what many other Christians, who may have been critical of the dress. And what frustrates me, is that people think that if you are critical of the dress, that she worn, then that person is either jealous or a hater. That is just too simplistic of a statement.

As a person that grown up in a conservative church, such as the Church of God in Christ, I can understand the criticism that was leveled at Erica Campbell. However, in my opinion, I thought she looked good in that photo. Now, do I think that everyone that is critical of Erica in that dress, is jealous or a hater? I do not think so, because everyone's religious convictions are not the same. Some may have a problem with the dress, that Erica, wore, but for some, it is not a big deal.

And that is the point that, I tried to make with some folks on Facebook. I think that people think that church folks may be jealous of Erica, but I think that people, might be looking at the way she is dressed. You have to realize that some folks may have grown up in church environments that may be conservative in theology.

I am not sure that a national conversation about race is worthless. Anyway, when it comes to this case, it was two blacks and one white that killed this young man.
