I am left-handed and have always worn my watch on my left wrist.

Why? I don’t know for certain. Maybe because my right-handed father did it that way. I didn’t realize it was abnormal to wear a watch on one’s dominant hand until a schoolmate pointed it out to me when I was a senior in high school. By that time, I had been wearing it that way for years, and it felt natural to me.

Re: JumpstartLab - We Build Developers

Well said.

Re: Mozilla: Internet Explorer 9 Isn’t A ‘Modern’ Browser

Some things that Mozilla has contributed: They helped develop the WOFF format for web fonts, which the other browsers now support. They are constantly conducting forward-looking experiments that may eventually become web standards (things like multi-touch events, the -moz-any() selector for CSS, and a browser-based audio API). They are also usually one of the first to implement many features of future standards (IndexedDB, File API, etc.), which provides valuable feedback to improve the specs.

Re: Payback: I Just Canceled AT&T By Way Of Google Voice

I agree about the landline. My parents have a home phone with a number that they’ve had for more than thirty years. They rarely use the landline anymore since they have cell phones, but they keep it for the phone number. If the number could be ported to Google Voice, they could have it forward to both of their cell phones and drop a monthly bill.

Re: Big Day For Facebook: New Pages, Memories, And Downtime

Before I read this post, I actually thought it was down for just me because of that link.

Re: BREAKING: Google Acquires Video Compression Company for $106.5 Million

That’s exactly what I am thinking. The obvious guess about Google’s intentions involves YouTube, but I think Google’s plans go far beyond that. Since Theora is based on On2’s VP3 codec, I’d bet that Google is considering opening up On2’s newer video technologies, thus allowing for major quality improvements in Theora.

Re: Complaint #384

And not just any regular old piemaker, but a piemaker who can bring dead people back to life! The problem with that is the average Facebook user is not going to go to the trouble to feed their updates into another service like FriendFeed. So most people’s updates will continue to exist only behind the “wall” of Facebook.

Re: Evan’s Tumblelog - I like work; it fascinates me. All of my computers are 32-bit, and I am still running Windows XP (plus Ubuntu on a couple of machines). This confirms for me that there is no reason to upgrade my Windows OS until I am ready to replace my hardware.

Sorry, Microsoft. Vista just isn’t worth the money or the hassle.

Re: Idiot’s Guide to Economic Policy

For someone who allegedly doesn’t know much about the economy, McCain seems to have a much better grasp of what it takes to grow the economy than Obama does.

Re: Palin is changing corporate media (Scripting News)

I am merely saying that dodging challenging questions is a political maneuver used by all sides. Who cares whether the Senator was in a “Cone of Silence” or not? The real question is, “Did McCain cheat somehow by either getting the questions in advance or overhearing part of Obama’s interview?”. McCain says that he did not. Whether or not one chooses to believe him seems to be based primarily on one’s political persuation.

Re: How to Beat Louis Gray at the Early Adopter Game

What’s funny is that I might never have seen this post had Louis Gray not shared it on FriendFeed.

Re: Google recreates Bookmarks in Notebook’s image

Google really needs a universal bookmarking system. I have items marked with stars throughout all the Google services (Gmail, Docs, Reader, Groups, etc.), yet there is not a single interface to view all these starred items at one time.
