I've accidentally invited gmail "contacts" on like 3 separate occasions, not realizing when you hit the button that the invites go out. That's why I've always thought the "connections" number on LinkedIn to be total BS because I have hundreds of people who added me who I've never met or done business with.

Apparently if you have had ONE email exchange in Gmail LinkedIn thinks it means you're "connected". It's all BS. Luckily over the years LinkedIn has added some neat features or else the whole network would be a joke.

Re: What Your Business Can Learn from Iron Maiden

Even though it proved to not be true, it makes a solid case - I wouldn't be surprised if Iron Maiden went ahead and used this strategy anyway.

Re: Growth Hacking Is Bull

Thank you Thank you Thank you

Re: Five Things To Consider Before Launching Your Kickstarter Campaign

I think the Kickstarter thing has been beaten to death, and laugh when some brand-new band with no fan base tries to give it a go. Not that you don't have a supportive base, but I like the fact that you're not fitting into the mold and opting for other methods.

Besides, why does it have to be KICKSTARTER? You already have a Paypal button - why not do it all yourself and have it be even more unique and special? Maybe there is a cooler way to go about the whole donation idea.

Re: What is content marketing?: “a conversation you have to participate in”

Good to see peeps in the area talking about this! If you're ever looking for extra work, I'd love for you learn about some of my projects to if any were of interest to you. Your role with Pinterest will really open up lots of opportunity for you here in the city as more people learn about your talent. That model is on the way out, the same way it is for almost every other "file" based business model.

Cloud Computing is taking over. Microsoft Office used to be something you paid to have on your computer. Now they are moving to a subscription based model. Adobe Creative Suite - you know, those fun tools like Photoshop and such that you use to make creatives - same kind of business model. These also just happened to be some of the most pirated types of programs people stole all the time. See a theme here?

Movies = Netflix.

Music = Spotify - Google just rolled out it's own subscription platform.

Definition of ignorance - lacking knowledge or awareness. That's the biggest issue here. The question is, how can YOU as an artist embrace a subscription model yourself. You can start by creating a fan base, one through Spotify, and going from there.

Or you can be stubborn and keep your music hidden. With so many artists out there, you'll be surely passed over like so many who think like you do.

Re: RCS – How We Do it With a Live Example

Bravo Will. It's nice to see someone who has "klout" in the SEO community step up and talk about doing some REAL MARKETING, and not just blabbing about SEO this and social media that. I've been preaching about this to clients for a long time now. Create a real message and do real marketing and you'll reap the rewards that SEO and Social Media can bring. Otherwise you can let the door hit you on your way out.

Re: TheProductPros: Have An Info Product? I think the Facebook login is smart. The team behind this obviously does not want a Reddit-like experience where half the front page is LOLcats and stupid memes - they want a place where news can be shared and taken seriously.

Not a social/community based site? By community do you mean faceless "power users" who controlled everything that hit the front page? This is only v1, and from what I gather we're looking at a site driven by real people (thus the Facebook connect) with real stories to share, and (this is important) real comments to give - not the annoying trolling that you saw before or see on Reddit.

In other words, a REAL community of REAL people.

The Digg experience has changed, and we can't spam it like we used to, but it's hardly dead. Google uses Facebook & Twitter signals to rank things, does that mean search is just a Twitter/Facebook aggregator?

All I know is that if I go to Digg right now I see lots of real articles and stories, and nowhere do I see the words "pokemon" or "minecraft". I hope Digg succeeds in becoming more then a nerd troll hangout, a place where I don't feel like a moron visiting to get my news.

Re: Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office is An Embarrassment

Put me in touch with them and I'll do it for free, in exchange for a little PR.

Re: Case Study: Evolvor Client Goes Viral, Get’s 30,000 Views & the Momentum Continues

Well if you think you've figured out the whole strategy from this article then good for you! Why don't you talk about, for instance, what you should actually be doing with Google +? Or how it's different than Facebook? How exactly will using this lead to a " bigger more dedicated fan base"? At the very least include perhaps how you can incorporate some tools that make updating a little easier?

Re: Are You a Stupid Musician?
