I could not agree more about the whole "you don't need to tinge things with an Asian twist." Sometimes I feel like we, as Asian Americans, purposely make ourselves stand out for no particular reason when there is a lot of talent out there...we're just a part of the mix.

Great job with the event! I wish I was in NY so that I could've attended it.

Those are wonderful ambitions and I'm excited to see how things go! Your next summer sounds absolutely amazing. I imagine working overseas will definitely be an eye-opener, in all the best ways possible.

I got my first one when I was at a jewelry expo in San Mateo with my mommy. My friend misplaced it, it got run over by cars, and he finally replaced it before I jetted off to college. The one he bought me broke...and now my finger feels awfully naked. :(

I'm with you with all of that, but for some reason -- I am still confident in saying that life will turn out alright, even if we both are pursuing careers as journalists. I have lofty goals like you that are hardly what my parents expected of me, but I think they are happy that I'm happy even if it means that they will have to stress about whether or not I will be able to put food on my own table in my little cardboard box. I guess we'll just find out right? That's the most frightening, most stressful, yet most exciting part about life.

My fall must-have item is a fashionable waterproof raincoat. With the fierce winds of Chicago, trying to carry a umbrella around is virtually impossible. I only feel like more of an idiot when the umbrella whips forward, with wires bent backwards. A raincoat (cute one) would help keep me dry and looking my best even when it's gloomy.

I wish I could post a link of my dream one, but it's hard to find a cute, trendy raincoat that is entirely waterproof.

I've been using this small weekly planner I bought at Office Max or Office Depot (I can never remember which one it is) ages ago, but the clean crisp pages of the Moleskine weekly planner always taunts me and beckons me even though I have a good half a year left on my current planner. Jealous! I would love to get one.
