Does anyone really care if Cobra goes belly up? it won't have any affect on the quality of golf we are seeing which has never ever been better. Does anyone really care what bag the number 8 player in the world carry's? Does anyone care about what clothes they wear or clubs they they play? Stephanie, You have way to much useless time on your hands!

So maybe Paddy shouldn't have had to take a penalty stroke for going in the water on 16 if the rules are not going to apply to the final group! Golf maintains it's integrity by applying it's rules to everyone all the time unlike the last few minutes of hockey or soccer or superstars getting calls in the NBA.

Every member gets to tee it up in the club championship so the fact that
your a member at a muny and have a 27 handicap does not impress. I do have
an idea, you see i deal with people like you all the time that don't have a
clue what they are talking about and try to act like they are intelligent.
Your not alone, there are many people just like you out there who never
lived life but like to talk like they have.

I could give you a stroke a hole and beat you anytime you want to play! So
the guy blew one tournament and even confessed what he did was stupid. You
have laid up your entire life pal in every aspect of life. Your fat your
bald and you wish you had any kind of game or any kind of life.

If I'm not mistaken Phil has won the masters twice! With your reasoning the
only game you respect is Tigers. I am not a Phil fan but I do enjoy watching
his go for it game and I like that he is not afraid to fail. Please don't
imply that getting into the top ten on the PGA tour is easy! I haven't seen
your name on a leader board ever.

To be honest the Asian influx has improved the actual quality of golf on the LPGA maybe it's had a negative effect on PR and Marketing in America but isn't the LPGA considered the best women's tour in the world. Well how can you be the best tour in the world if you don't have the best players and at the current time the best players are coming from Asia I think it's cyclical and will change every decade or so. That being said the smile on Ai Miyazato is world class and
Jiyai Shin is an extraordinary talent. Oh and is it just me or did C. Mathews remind you of the female version of Tom Watson?

Do you think Beth Daniels picked Michelle Wie so that she will get some S-cup experience? She plays terrible under pressure. At the moment she plays her best round on the final day to get into the top ten after the pressure of contending is gone. She will be on many more S-cup teams so despite the choke factor it may still have been a smart choice.

I know you don't play the muni's but you get my point. I don't think you
can seperate one type of corporate sponsorship from the other because the
tournament sponsorship drives the sponsorship of the players. If the purses
were not so large hence driving the level of play through the roof and
drawing players from around the globe then only a few very elite players
would be sponsored. True in the 60's and 70's you had no idea what clubs the
players used except jack and arnie and a few others but your couldn't buy
the same clubs and there was no tour vans etc. Now I can go to Taylor Made
and be fitted with tour issue equipment made exactly to my specs. the
difference is I have to pay for it. This has only happened because the large
purses generate great golf which in turn generates huge interest which
generates massive media exposure and this generates individual sponsorship
contracts. The amount and quality of individual corporate sponsorship
contracts is directly related to the amount of Media exposure. Compare the
PGA with The LPGA. The PGA tour members will have many more contracts
because the coverage is so much more extensive than the LPGA. I do however
think each player should be limited to three sponsors. one on the hat, one
on the shirt and one on the bag. soon your exactly right it will look like
NASCAR.

On the flip side! We are seeing the best golf that has ever been played. The competition is fierce on the tours and the reason is MONEY. Corporations are paying huge dollars to sponsor events and the purses of the PGA are at amazing levels. Jack Nickalus made 10 million in his golf career. Tiger has won over 10 million at Jacks memorial Tournament alone. The huge money that corporations throw at the golf world has had a very positive impact in quality of golf. One step further, without corporate money making golf huge your blog would be about your round at the local muny.

Tiger and Morgan Pressel don't have the worst tempers in pro golf, they are just the worst at hiding them. I do think we have seen a few others lately like Kerr and Ochoa at the US open. They work so hard (harder than most) at their craft and to not be able to execute what you have spent countless hour perfecting has to be frustrating. Take Christina Kim for instance arguably one of the best iron players on the tour yet hasn't been able to play from the fairway consistently for over a year now. You know she is trying everything to improve her driving and can do it to perfection on the range but when the juices start flowing it's all gone.

It was a great OPEN a bit of an let down but still some great golf. Hey does anyone really think Natalie Gulbis and Anna Rawson were asked to present at the ESPY"S because they are great golfers? Wait till you see what they make Natalie wear tonight she looks like a tart! Tough to be considered a good golfer if you get smashed by a bunch of 13-16 year olds in US. Open qualifying.

What I would really like to know is what happens to the Pat Hurst's and Helen Alfredson's who just quit after one round. I understand if your injured but to just QUIT is pathetic I lost all respect for them. Don't think any of the top nine players who didn't get in the Open would have withdrawn unless they were missing a limb!
Alfredson should not be aloud to defend this week after a lame stunt like that!!!!!!!

I just love good golf and yes it's clear that our American ladies have
warning track power, meaning they can get to contention but can't close.
it's a lot easier to make a run to get in the top ten or top five than to
make a run to win. I enjoy the Asian contingent, I could care less what
language they speak! They can play and they earn everything they get.

Why would we expect her to speak english? 30% of MLB can't speak it and Yao ming of the NBA still needs somone to speak for him. People who appreciate good golf don't care what language it happens in. I do see your point and I am sure your right that many will be put off by the non English answers but if an American wins the Evian, I guarantee they won't give interview answers in french!

Those nine players(excluding any who have serious injury) should be suspended! Helen Alfredson should be real proud of herself playing one round at 10 over and then QUITTING!!!!!!! Do you think any of the next nine players who didn't get in the US open would have WD I doubt it! Funny they can just play bad and quit with zero consequences!
