i actually saw the first episode when it came on right after the MTV music video awards, which i made the mistake of watching after everyone livetumbled it. i mean, MTV doesn't have a lot of admittedly scripted shows so while i think a lot of it the dialogue and humor is apatowian, it's not too bad to me. it's a lot like kick-ass, but on television and with dicks instead of superhero costumes. i wouldn't say it's worth watching or that it's fantastic, i just don't think it's as terrible as you think.

then again, it could be because i have no barometer for shitty television.

i don't know why i'm defending an MTV show but i think the point of it is that he doesn't like that he has a big dick and tried to downplay it because he wants people to like him for who he is and what he does. like how girls with big boobs are always trying to minimize them so people focus on their personalities.

there's a scene where he's at the pool party and this girl can't get the keg to work and he comes up and tries to flirt and be helpful and she looks at him and just goes, 'why don't you do it with your dick?' and scoffs and walks away. this thing which should be a total blessing because of how our culture glorifies a large penis is a huge drawback for him in terms of making friends and carving his own path in high school. now he has this reputation that precedes him.

i think really the point of RJ berger, aside from all the dick jokes they get to make and the comedy goldmine that is navigating high school, is to show you this thing that you're totally embarrassed and resentful of in high school, be it physical, situational, whatever, is something you'll come to embrace as an adult and once you come to terms with it, it'll be a lot easier for people to see past it and look at you as a person, not as a thing.

also hung wasn't even really about this dude's dick other than the fact that he took advantage of his huge penis to make money. i think it was more about him trying to build this relationship with his family and that lady with the black hair. i dunno, it was boring to me so i only watched half the season.

also, i could be wrong about all of this.

I don't know what I'm more happy about, T-Pain being able to laugh it all off or the fact that Ryan Seacrest's intern showed him a clip of the "Sittin' Sidewayz" video so he would know who Paul Wall was.

That's funny, you keep saying it like it's not going to happen and we aren't going to legit get married in Iowa once we graduate. We are, of course, going to have to get some kind of joint custody thing over the cat once our inevitable and regrettable divorce arises. (Mostly because I don't think either of us could go that long without a dude.)
