Hello Andy!

I'm good either way. I guess it doesn't bother me as much because I've really tried to simplify and streamline my gtd inbox and I only place TODAY and TOMORROW in the TO DO menu (PROJECTS that need to get done are done because they've been placed in TODAY for example). TOMORROW is there because there are times when I finish everything for TODAY ahead of time and I can start doing the TO DOs due TOMORROW. The other numbers (in projects, actions, etc.) are not really useful and do not add to my workflow so I don't use them.

But that's me. I understand that design issues will be subjective (user dependent), but I love AIB because it allows me to simplify--and not complicate--my workflow. And so if there's any "design principle" to follow it would probably be this: design it so that it doesn't get in the way of dealing with email faster so we can leave our inbox and get on with the rest of our lives. hehehe.

Thanks a lot Susan! I was actually stumped and thought it was a gcal issue. And since I've had some problems with getting help from google in the past, I just did my own work around (i.e. bookmarking gcal and using that link instead of opening it from gmail AND asking my officemates if they had the same problem! hahaha!).

Thanks Andy, as usual! Never thought AIB was the culprit. The whole thing was more funny than irritating.

I've been with ActiveInbox from the start (back in the GTDGmail days), and would like to say I don't regret ever using it. It's now organically part of my gmail and I'm always proud when people ask me "How do you do THAT?" when I add a deadline to my email. (yes I know, will ask them to get ActiveInbox also. I don't want to hardsell the product.)

Congratulations Andy, Lisa, Pete, Mark, Dan and unnamed sixth member (I would say hi when you're finally on board!)!

andy (and mark)! great job once again! thanks for the export to gcal feature. very thoughtful (i find that it is redundant with the due date feature but i can see that it would help with my android calendar sync.) i am curious to see how my workflow will change with this. but thanks!

My thoughts exactly! Just pure Zen GUI!

I like the nifty optional note option. That was thoughtful. And I like how it visually integrates almost seamlessly into the new look and feel of gmail.

This makes the rapid turn-around all the more laudable. Your hard work is much appreciated!

The beta release looks good, although for a sleeker/cleaner look, the TO DO dropdown is really all I need (PROJECTS, REFERENCES, TIME and ANNOUNCEMENTS can be duplicated in the gmail sidebar with the more important labels set on "show" or "show if unread"). I like the fact that I now have an easier to access GTD cockpit.

1) I need an automated focusing/review tool: something that would bring my today and due items in front (#3 image above).

2) I really don't need #s 1 and 2 if their goal is just to summarize what is unprocessed/next action/etc.

3) And to reiterate my comment below, it would be great to have some kind of timer (I use Concentrate for that right now; but it would be good to have a complete GTD solution in one service!) to keep me focused.

I used to do Chrome's Email Game before until I started using AIB. I personally do not know how this will be implemented (or if there's a need for that). A "power feature" would be to have some kind of DO IT NOW timer on the AIB toolbox. I hope this one's in the horizon.

These are all great ideas. On the downside, they would make gmail cluttered though. But I guess it really depends on the person- to each his own.

Right now, I use the Multiple Inboxes lab and have 2-3 more "inboxes" below my real Inbox. I would love to have some kind of REVIEW INBOX that is automated: it would have all items that have been marked TODAY and those that have passed the DUE date. If I have that, I could stop using multiple inboxes altogether.

Thanks for the tips. I'm a Twitter newbie (I've been trying to hold off as much as I can, but couldn't anymore), and these are helpful tips all around.

I am quite intrigued by the using-twitter-as-search functionality. I wonder if that's how the original developers intended it to be, but that's definitely a great use for this "140 character max" machine.

This reminds me of a security guard we have here in the Philippines who works for McDonalds. He makes sure you're parked the right way, brings extra condiments to your table without you asking (I asked him about this and he says he notices little things--and knows if the person is looking for something, or is satisfied with what he has on his plate), asks you if you want to read the day's paper. And all this with a genuine smile on his face.

I think if a person is truly happy and really willing to serve, it comes out naturally. Do people give him tips? Maybe. Maybe not. But his consistency is amazing.
