I wish this program well, especially since 80-85% of all calls to the DFD are medical in nature. I just makes sense to put more resources into BLS/transport.

Re: Proposed skate park donations are still being accepted

The deadline is some time this Summer, correct?

Re: Proposed skate park donations are still being accepted

It's too bad the $125,277 we've already spent on the skate park doesn't count toward getting any grant money.

Q: Didn't the grant amount get reduced to under $20k at some point, anyway?

Re: Duke Realty purchases 92 acres of land in DuPont

An Amazon.com distribution facility in DuPont would be nice, says I.

Re: Washington creates recycling program for mercury lights

If you live in DuPont, these are the closest recycling locations:

* Thurston County HazoHouse, 2418 Hogum Bay Rd NE, Lacey, 360-867-2912

* Home Depot in 1450 Marvin Rd, Lacey

* PSE office at 2711 Pacific Ave, Lacey

* Home Depot 101 E 152nd St in Tacoma

Re: DuPont City Council debates proposed budget cuts

That would not be a terrible thing.

Re: DuPont City Council debates proposed budget cuts

Check out the cover for the 1st Reading of the 2013 Proposed Budget Ordinance: http://bit.ly/UPFrAq According to that document, DuPont is going to have revenues of $17 million in 2013, but only spend $10.7 million. Our elected officials need real information on which to base their decisions - real numbers that can be understood and trusted. Sadly, we're not there yet.

City Council needs to encourage the Mayor to instruct his staff to give data that is both mathematically accurate and easy to understand. If they can't or won't, then we need to find new staff.

Re: DuPont Police are searching for 15 year old with a juvenile arrest warrant

Thanks, Cara. But, that would drastically increase the amount of time needed to run a test - if you want a sizable data set.

How would you suggest getting pricing feedback with that in mind?

Also, I've found that any store that will sell a significant number of copies of any game (in my case, I deal mostly with game publishers and retailers) has an advocate for that game. It could be an employee or a regular customer, but stores that sell signification numbers of any product are often demonstrating it to potential customers already. Does that mitigate your concern about either point you bring up, above?

Re: Second Life Furnishings

I never realized you dropped by Coffee with Crayon. This is 100% an experience constraint - I don't have much of it, in total or with the tools that enable one to do 'great things' with video. That said, I wanted to do a lot of video while on Tour this past Summer - so I structured my 'I am the Gamerati' videos to be short and easy to edit. My constraint on the technical experience side helped me innovate on the format side.

Re: Travel

That's the job of the @chattydm

Re: Dorky’s Arcade: ‘THIS IS NOT CHUCKY CHEESE!!!’

The Gamerati are going to go check this puppy out in a couple weeks. So far, it's too early to tell. Experience tells me it's partly in my control, but that most of the juice comes from the offer each project has (something I have no control over, sadly).

Re: What does an effective Kickstarter banner ad look like?

I don't have enough data, yet, to answer that question properly. While I know that over a dozen projects have been able to reach out to new supporters via advertising with us, I have yet to get a proper analysis with a large enough data set to analyze what works best, etc. I'd love to do a case study.

I'd also like to know if mentioning Kickstarter in the ad has any effect, either on the click rate or the resulting conversion rate. Just need more data, I guess.

Re: What does an effective Kickstarter banner ad look like?

I've seen a few people pivot their Kickstarter project after initial feedback.
