It's definitely fallen in likelihood since he announced it as his followup to THE WITCH, but I don't think it's impossible that it'll happen. At the very least, it means Eggers is thinking along the same lines as you :)

I'm shocked that book does not exist. There are some boards in the Art Of Fury Road book, but it ain't the same as seeing the director's complete vision laid out in front of you.

I'd contend that's more of a thriller than an action movie, and more about the men than the bear. One of my favourite movies though! Love that film.

BMD picks its Alternate Oscars *after* the Oscar nominations are announced, and anything that's nominated by the Oscars is eliminated as a potential Alternate nominee. There's literally no way they could influence the actual Oscars.

This is just how it works with musicals. It's rare that megahit original musicals get film adaptations super-quick because basically, stage musicals are a huge industry and they want to ride that train as long as possible.

What he *said* was that he and his friends would laugh at the *kills* in horror movies. That's how he justified the response to himself, but people in that theatre were laughing at *literally everything in the movie.* And like, "not trying to make an Oscar winning film" is not the same as "making horror's The Room". He's completely sincere about his movie and completely out of touch with what he made. I watched the same Q&A and there wasn't an ounce of self-awareness in it. Especially given that about 60% of the Q&A involved him ranting about Marvel films, basically guaranteed to get applause in that audience.

Remember when Picard got assimilated by the Borg and Riker said "Fire" and everyone had to wait a literal year to see what happened? Two-parters exist. (I agree with your other criticisms, although I think "not being interested in watching Short Treks" is on you, not on the show.)

I'm okay with that, given that it's classified Section 31 technology. The majority of Starfleet didn't know about it, and Section 31 were covering it up.
