The funny thing: if they had shut the lift down until it was safer, tons of people would be complaining about the lift being down--as many people did throughout the season when the mountain closed lifts due to unsafe operation. You just can't win sometimes!

hrmmm. Since the Stalinist flag is hanging on the Capitol, which is on fire... and it's juxtaposed with the image of men raising the flag at Iwo Jima... I'm pretty sure this is anti-socialist/anti-communist/pro-capitalist. It's invoking the fight against "tyranny". Granted, they're raising a red flag--which we don't know if it's the same Stalin-Soviet flag or not... but that being said, what with all the "We're becoming a communist nation" accusations flinging around the conservatives, I think this is a "reminder" of what would happen to our freedom and liberty if communism were to reign...

At least that's my gut reaction. Bill's was "Uhhh... we lost the Cold War and now we're fucked...?"
