Yes, this album needs to be remastered, reissued (extra tracks?) and celebrated. (I wore out my cassette, too). There are several amazing things about The Catherine Wheel. (1) Yogi Horton's DRUMMING. Holy Crap! Rest In Peace, Yogi - we are better for your work here. OMG, the hi-hat work is so crisp, so propulsive - not sure who picked Yogi for the session, but great call. (2) Most of us know that Byrne was deep into John Miller Chernoff's book "African Rhythm and African Sensibilities" - but to then have Chernoff play on this album (e.g. "Leg Bells") was not just a compliment, but a collaborative, inclusive move. (3) Byrne's interest in dance effectively debuts by collaborating with Tharp, and is still evident in his "Everything That Happens..." tour. (4) "Remain in Light" paved the way for this album, but I'd be curious of the timing of the sequence of events (overlapping recording dates with Bush of Ghosts?) - and lastly (5) Byrne obviously loved the songs from this so much that he included them in the 1983 Stop Making Sense live shows - (saw 4 of them, changed my life) AND he dusted off "My Big Hands" for the ETHWHT tour - which worked. A classic Byrne/Eno album that has aged better than most.</p>
