The take-away is that when Romney said, "No, I agree with you Mr. President, with the need to get rid of Mubarek" and when he went into victory laps three weeks before the election, and when he began to immediately talk about reaching out to rabid, deranged marxists and union thug supporters in Congress, most of the rightwing crazies just began to deflate. I am a rightwing crazy, still voted for Romney along with my wife. But among my "peeps" it was noted that they began to quietly stop talking about what a piece of garbage the policies of Obama had been. They just went....blah....y ya!
Then immediatly the GOP campaign engineers come out and say that the rightwing crazies are the cause of the loss. Their extremism scared off the Hispanics, the women, and the good moderate voters who everybody loves and needs. They were scared off by the extremist tea party people! ????? Then they said that we are going to have to do more to reach out to 'hispanics" because the "hispanics" are a natural voting block for the GOP because they are so conservative on social issues. ?????????????????
My family is substantially Spanish/Mexican colonial....and there is no way that the slobs who have some latin ancestry who are globbed into the grocery line with their WIC cards and Lone Star Cards and their stairstep AFDC fat blob children are ever going to vote Republican. They almost do not vote. And we RESENT THE HELL OUT OF BEING LUMPED INTO A CATEGORY WITH THEM!!!! Our people are American first and we have the war records to prove it. Still, in Texas, the voting group Latins are probably split about evenly....but we assure you that the skilled labour, small proprietor, professional people - doctors, nurses, teachers, accountants, dentists, preachers, small business people, chronically employed skilled blue collar people of Latin origin, usually Mexican background, vote HEAVILY GOP AND TO THE RIGHT.
There can be no outreach to the "Hispanic" groups. What the Democrats want is for the Republican party to join in the fallacy that food stamps, afdc, section 8, etc is some kind of 'Hispanic Outreach" because they know that, if the Republicans adopt that, along with any amnesty initiative, the Democrats will remind their Latin base "We always gave you the free ride you came here for", and the conservative Latins will feel like they were kicked in the face by the Republicans who went chasing off with bribes to try to get the votes of parasites who will never vote Republican, while turning their backs on the
American-style, proudly Latin people already in the Elephant ranks.

tweenager • 11 years ago

Thank you for saying so well what I've been trying to figure out how to say. I will never understand why the honest, hard-working Latinos and Asians don't say "Enough! We aren't whiners like the other so-called disadvantaged bunch!"

GeneralLee • 11 years ago

Your kind words are an encouragement not only to your servant, but to many, many Latinos whose feelings and beliefs I represented in my previous post,
Oddly enough, my statement of gratitude to-day was delayed by my attendance of a rededication of the grave of a Confederate Veteran, who served honourably and died back in 1897. A new, military grade tombstone and a nice service was conducted at a small church within view of the Rio Grande, a few miles southeast of McAllen, Texas. There were about 200 adults, and perhaps 50 children aged 12 and under there, by a small, historic frame Methodist Church. To the west side of the Church were the interments of family members dating back into the earliest times of Hidalgo County. The honoured deceased came from Alabama, and had a second marriage into one of the Spanish/Mexican families of the area whose presence dated into the Spanish colonial period. Many of his "first litter" intermarried with the orginal Spanish/Mexican populace. His "second litter" and their subsequent progeny are also quite numerous. Many turned out to honour their ancestor, bringing children with them. Many of those in attendance are known Republicans, some were known conservative Democrat office-holders. (Our area is one of the very few in Texas still holding to any control by the Democrats.) The main ramrod for the rededication and recognition ceremony performed by the Sons of Confederate Veterans and the United Daughters of the Confederacy and numerous local officials, is the GGGrandson of the fete'd person, who also has served several terms as the Hidalgo Country Republican Party Chairman.
We said the pledege of allegiance to the Stars and Stripes, reverenced the Stars and Bars (the honoured party had been in a military unit) had our volleys and invocation, nice words and recognitions, benediction and went home happy. And, 90% of the people who were there are 87.5% Latin and about 55% of the people who were there are card-carrying Elephants and have been for years.
This all occurred to-day, on the border, next to the Rio Grande (in view) 9 miles southeast of McAllen, Texas.

If these Republican governors want a greater say in party messaging, then I say enact and enforce mandatory voter ID in their respective states; this will send the loudest message possible across this great land. Nothing matters more at this point in our history.

RiverKing • 11 years ago

Pennsylvania, Texas, and others have done that, but we were blocked from implementing it, for this election at least, by leftist courts and the Dept of inJustice

Skeptic62 • 11 years ago

We must continue, perhaps even to the extent of seeking a Constitutional Amendment. Our democratic form of government will not survive the loss of trust in our electoral system.

RiverKing • 11 years ago

Hey, I'd be happy with following the Constitution as it exists. Just think how far we'd be from the "fiscal cliff" if the federal government spent money ONLY on those things specifically authorized by the Constitution. There would be no "fiscal cliff".

tweenager • 11 years ago

How about fingerprinting instead of ID cards since the lefties think ID cards are a financial barrier to their favorite voters?

Skeptic62 • 11 years ago

Unfortunately the ACLU would oppose this. Perhaps we could devolve into dipping our thumbs into ink.

MH52 • 11 years ago

It is time republican governors stood! There is no time left to flirt with demographic change in the states. The governors should support an immigration law in favor of absorbing specialists who are committed to capitalism not illegal workers who choose free meal over freedom and liberty!

TPis Funny • 11 years ago

Huh? What are you trying to say? If they have their MBA's do they get in?

candide08 • 11 years ago

The days of 3 committee central control are gone. Billionaires, Governors and media personalities now are jockeying for control of the GOP, thanks (mostly) to Citizens United. The law os unintended consequences lives!

Hobbes_Wayne • 11 years ago

Until these guys can come up with a plan to get past the Ministry of Truth media, know amount of say in the message is going to get out. The biggest surprise of the campaign was when people discovered Romney wasn't the ogre the media portrayed him. They need to get dirty, set up a website, prove the story as biased and have their followers boycott the news agency that puts out the newspeak.

tweenager • 11 years ago

It's not effective--in fact, it's not possible--to boycott the media! Boycott the SPONSORS! It's all about money.

going1234 • 11 years ago

Why is it when a republican says something stupid like illegitimate rape every says he must step down. The republican's have become a party of cowards. They need to stand up and say what he should of said is there is no good time to kill an unborn child, but instead the cowards in the party say resign this included the rino who was running for president. Time to turn the debate against the press. When they ask about abortion for rape, incest and health of the mother, which is a very small part of the reasons for an abortion, ask why they are not concerned about all the unborn children that are killed on a whim.

The right the dems for death fight for and boast about cost a child their life.

Maybe it is time to start a third party one that is truely against killing a child and not just saying they are for a vote.

McCain was the last rino I voted for, I did not vote for romney and will not vote for anyone who believes killing a child is a right.

Just one opinion.

Darth_Soetoro • 11 years ago

I disagree with Gov.Jindal and I'm suprised because I've liked his statements in the past.
@going1234, Your "NON-VOTE" for Romney and all the other millions of Republicans and/or conservatives who refused to vote for Romney are what helped Obama win. Also the 3rd parties and those who voted for them helped Obama win. This is the same as 1992 when Perot and his voters helped Clinton. Another horrible way of thinking is those who engage in religious bigotry. How many evangelical christians refused to vote for Romney because he's Mormon? The Left doesn't want us to discriminate against Muslims yet several Democrat operatives publicly and Democrat voters on forums like this one attacked Mormons. Can't conservatives be better than that? Haven't we learned from 1960 when people questioned voting for JFK because he was Catholic? That was 52 years ago!!!
EVERY vote not given to Romney helped Obama. Period. It was that close.
And that's MY opinion, so far still protected by the Constitution.
Welcome to the Dark Side!

going1234 • 11 years ago

I take this as yadda, yadda you must vote for romney who is Obama lite. The answer is I did not vote for Obama or romney. I voted pro life. If they want my vote give me a conservative to vote for, and do not make the conservitive the number 2 guy. I am ready for the tea party to split off and become a conservatve party.

I did not care that he was a mormon, but that he was pro choice, until he ran for pres. The choice everyone wants to protect is the death of an unborn child.

Darth_Soetoro • 11 years ago

"The choice everyone wants to protect is the death of an unborn child."

I am with you on that statement. So then you voted for Rick Santorum, correct? He was a good choice, but he would not have won a general election. Of the people that will willing to take a stand and be in the Republican primary, only Gov.Romney had a chance of winning the general election. But he goofed on Paul Ryan, who is a good guy, but tarred by the Medicare re-write that gave the Democrats ammo and scared the seniors. My pick would have been Condoleezza Rice, but she did not want the job. Perhaps Gov.Jindal or Sen.Rubio would have been better.

Also you mention that Gov.Romney was previously pro-choice, yes, as Governor he was. He switched sides on the issue just as the woman at the heart of the Roe vs. Wade lawsuit who wanted an abortion when it was still illegal. So go ahead and tell her that she can't switch sides when she has been trying to help the pro-life movement since her conversion. If she can switch, Gov.Romney can switch too.

going1234 • 11 years ago

If the lady was running for pres when she made thar claim, then yes, but she is actually doing pro life work. Romney he just says the others should drop out of the race.
If a conservative cannot win then dem or dem lite really doesn't matter.

Darth_Soetoro • 11 years ago

The choice was not between a "Dem or Dem Lite". The choice was between a Democrat Marxist and a moderate Republican. Gov.Romney was not my first choice in the primary either so don't blame me. However, I chose to vote for him in the general election. I tried to keep the Dark Side away. I'm sorry you and others didn't see that distinction however I forsee that in the near future it will be rather plain that Gov.Romney would have been better. Good Night, America.

Guest • 11 years ago

so you're saying people should vote for a guy even if he stands for things they oppose just to vote out the current guy? That doesn't help. That just means you get another moron in office that will govern badly. This problem started long ago. Romney never should have been in the party, let alone in the primaries. As long as the GOP keeps nominating liberals, they will continue to lose.

Darth_Soetoro • 11 years ago

Well, what we get is a continuation of Obama and his socialist/marxist policies. Are you going to say that a Pres.Romney would not have been better? Of course he would have! What did he "stand for" that you opposed?

Guest • 11 years ago

Let's start with this:

Tarp/bailouts
Gun bans
Romneycare/Obamacare
Wars in the Middle East (continuing those we're in and more of them)
More govt spending - deficits in excess of 1 trillion a year forever
NDAA
Patriot Act
TSA
No cuts to entitlements

Sound familiar? just like Bush and Obama. The choice was Marxist / Socialist vs Fascist / Socialist... some choice. I chose neither.

indykat1 • 11 years ago

If they continue to nominate Tea Party kooks at any level except the most local, they will lose even worse. Look what happened with seven Senate seats in the last two years that were certain Republican wins had it not been for the TP goofballs.

tweenager • 11 years ago

So, since you didn't vote for Romney, you in effect voted twice for BHO.

going1234 • 11 years ago

I actually did not vote for either, I voted pro life. I refuse to compromise just to appease the rinos in the republican party. You want my vote; vote for a conservative in the next primary. If a rino wins, I will do a write in. So stopped putting demarcate lite as the nominee.

Joe Peters • 11 years ago

It is both amusing and outrageous how Republicans seem to think that their only problem is their "messaging" and not their policies, views and beliefs.

They seem to think that all they need to do is give a better SALES PITCH, rather than moderate their views about those they disagree with.

No one should trust these guys. ACTIONS speak louder than words, and one immigration bill isnt going to fix all that is so wrong with today's Republican Party and their base, who aren't going to be going along with all this new "touchy-feely" inclusiveness and tolerance by Republicans in Congress anytime soon, believe me!

tweenager • 11 years ago

Jindal has been running for president since the day he was inaugurated governor of LA. If he doesn't like the way Republicans think (and it's obvious he doesn't), why doesn't he join the other liberals in the dumbocrat party?

Darth_Soetoro • 11 years ago

Gov.Jindal is NOT a liberal.

Utter nonsense and garbage. And you folks cant figure out why you lost the election, as well as the popular vote for 5 of the last 6 presidential elections.

Wake up or get left behind.

Barry O Bama • 11 years ago

VOTE THEM OUT

Joe Peters • 11 years ago

They just did, on election day. You better wake up.

katsrun2 • 11 years ago

actually i agree with gov. romney, i think that was part of what obama did, and that has been discussed on fox news.. i also think the party needs to stick to the conservative ideals instead of being wishy washy, that's the one thing i heard that obama did, he did not waver on his policies, even though they are wrong for this country and are taking us closer and closer to socialism.. i also think every governor needs to use the 10th amendment to nullify obamacare and other policies that violate the 10th amendment... every governor also needs make sure their state's voter laws were being followed in this election (i.e. Florida)

Joe Peters • 11 years ago

There was your first mistake....watching Fox News. Enjoy your extended stay in the political wilderness of the US for the forseeable future.
