cover up? lets get into this right... We're talking about an attack that lasted 7 hours. we have footage of cabinet members and the Pres watching the events live as they happened. We know that 3 times, the Navy Seals asked for help and were denied. We know stevens was giving arms to the people. And there is now speculation that the Pres sent Stevens there, hoping to have him get kidnapped 2 months before the elections, so that he could send in the Seals to rescue him and therefor be called a hero (perfect timing for the election) but that his plans failed because the 2 Seals went there to help Stevens even though they were told not to, and they fought off the terrorists... Which resulted in the killing of 4 people. From what I read, it was a grand plan that backfired because a man asked for help and got it (Despite the President's orders to NOT act)
of course... now comes the part where I get 100+ thumbs down and people attack me for simply relaying information... I can honestly say that everything I just typed has been reported in the new york times, and is what the parent of one of the Seals went on record with...

It's unfortunate that terrorists killed 4 Americans at the embassy in Libya to be sure. But for Republicans to suggest that one of their number could have prevented it would be laughable, if it wasn't so sad. Like Obama trying to blame the whole thing on a "spontaneous protest" when he KNEW that no such protest had taken place?

Like Obama not bothering to attend daily Security Briefings so that he could spend more time campaigning?

Like Obama jetting off to campaign events that night instead of staying in the WH Situation Room to keep in touch with the events as they unfolded?

Like Obama ignoring warning signs in the days, weeks and months leading up to the event, that trouble was brewing and that 9/11/12 might be a trigger date for an attack?

Like Obama and his minions ignoring Stevens' pleas for increased security?

Like not raising security, putting facilities in the area on lock-down and/or maybe pulling our people out for a few days?

Like not sending help in after the attack started? One of the people killed was on the roof, "painting" the bad guys with a laser for an airstrike that never came? We had assets in the area that easily could have been there within an hour or two, maybe even less.

Somebody really needs to remind Senatior John McCain that (a) he is no longer involved in any of these contentious debates between President Obama and Mitt Rmoney and (b) that former decorated military officers who are now experienced United States senators should be ashamed of themselves for acting like spoiled brats.
