Hey, Seniors, have a good time on that there dating site. Just remember, even though babies are no longer a concern, you gotta put a glove on it! You don't want something that don't wash off.

"According to a study published in the Student British Medical Journal, rates of sexually transmitted disease among U.S., Canadian and British baby boomers have doubled over the last decade as fewer seniors are practicing safe sex." http://www.mnn.com/health/f...

The community with the highest STD rate in FL is that bastion of republican morality and family values, The Villages.

I think it's awesome. However, are you a senior at 50 years of age now? That seems a bit young. I thought most AARP members were retired and 65 years old.

Ha ha, thats what I thought till my wife enrolled me at 50. A big joke to her little 45 year old hiney! Good discounts though. I would not bother with dating at my age. To much drama.

You're AARP fodder at 50. Unless you ignore them. They do eventually go away.

David Brown • 11 years ago

this sounds like the definition of 'old' as 'ten years older than me' ...

Did they really need to use the chick with the low-cut dress, cocktail in hand, and once married to a younger man as the billboard for this site? She's exactly 50, representing the youngest possible age on the site. Does she really represent the typical "senior" who is looking to date?

whats up with the word "dating?" Its dated to me. someone should find appropriate substitute to the word. one the goes with the circumstances of the "dater." The word suggests that dating relationship is very brief and places importance on sex (as evidenced by the suggestive photo up top.) I think for older folks, dating should be referred as companionship; some people use that term. If its simply to explore sexual life, then sexual partner would be the right word.
In case you are wondering, I also have issue with the terms boyfriend and girlfriend. I dont think I need to explain how I feel about those terms used in reference to relationships between older adults.

WHEN is someone going to start a service for people who just want to find a new friend [not boy/girl friend, sex partner, spouse, etc.] - just someone with whom to communicate, exchange ideas, etc. ? With all the dating, hook-up, romance seeking, etc. "services" proliferating all over the place, why not try something else?

So, if you want to be happy, and thus healthy and not isolated, you need to join We, for a nominal fee of course, whose mission statement is to help end isolation and help people find companionship with people like the lady above, Ms. 3rd or 4th time is the charm (if you are a silver haired Doctor with deep pockets?)

Nah. There are a lot, (a lot!) of gypsies, tramps and thieves on those sites looking for a easy mark. Watch your wallet, seniors. (50? Wasn't it last week that 71 was definitely not senior?)

AARP is one of the ginormous rackets found only in the open cesspool of the Mistake On The Potomac.

Under the carefully cultivated image lies a huge empire involved in selling insurance, travel and all kinds of unrelated businesses. You should see the gargantuan marble-laced Taj Mahal that is the corporate headquarters of this scam.

"He looked like George Clooney .... He did not look 60 at all."

Well, George is almost there --- in his 50s.
