When I detox, I use a mixture of bentonite clay, activated charcoal, and fiber. I mix in water and take first thing in the morning. I wait at least an hour (2 is better) before I have my breakfast shake. I will do for a week of 2 a couple times a year.

I've used Bentonite clay for the past 10 years. I've used it internally in 1/4 teaspoon doses in water followed 15 min later with a good grade probiotic powder ,

(Milk-Free Probiotic Acidophilus Plus FOS Powder). I can only take the 1/4 teaspoon dose because otherwise the detox process is too painful.(as the toxins begin to move out of fat and tissue they come in contact with nerve endings and make me ache all over) This treatment has improved my digestion and elimination processes a lot.
I also use the clay as a poltice on boils and just poof it into an open wound or sore on people or animals. The areas heal very quickly and with very little scaring .
My husband had a large (2") multiheaded, angry red, hot to the touch boil on his back and refused any medical treatment so I made a poltice of Bentonite clay and a few drops of tea tree oil and applied it with a tegaderm. We left it on for a week and when we removed the poltice it had drawn out all the infection and was nearly closed. It did heal completely and would have done so sooner if he had let me put on some dry bentonite.

As I understand it, diatomatious earth is poisonous and can kill animals, make humans VERY ill. I know there is a food grade, but I am not knowledgeable about much more when it comes to that.

There is food grade and a "pool" grade. Food grade is good for us, the poison grade people use in pool filters. Whatever else pool grade is used for I don't know.

I've been making homemade toothpaste with bentonite clay. I had horrible sensitivity in my teeth after the dentist did all kinds of work.
