Thank you for your insight. I am a newbie, starting classes next week. I have an awesome mentor and have been hired by an upscale, family owned (50 years) agency. I am researching every chance I get so that my business will be a success!

Sandy, thanks for reading. I would be curious to know what else you find critical to your learning as you get up and running.

Keep up with technology! Know what's coming next and be the first one to be an expert! The experienced agents that don't keep up with technology will die out! Don't be one of the technologically obsolete!!

Seth Price • 10 years ago

I completely agree. technology is now engrained into our daily lives in such a way that to ignore it will be fatal to a business. Thanks for reading and sharing.

I'm late to the party, but still on time. :-) Aside from the "kissing babies" this could be my story and most other agents. Life would be much easier if they told us the real estate license isn't just a "license to sell"...it's essentially a business license. I love the infographic. It's an awesome resource.

Toni, So true. I really appreciate the feedback. Thanks for reading.

Choosing the right office/company to work with is key. If your company won't help nurture your development as an asset, you really are wasting not only your own time but also the company's time as well.

Hi, Seth. Couple of things..

I'd add Steve Harney and the crew at KCM as a fabulous coaching/information sources. I also think written goals/business plan are essential to get and keep agents on track regardless of experience level and essential from the get-go.

Thanks for the shout out for LeadingRE! The Network also offers a tremendous broker-to-broker referral network with nearly 30,000 referrals exchanged last year with an average sales price of $323,407 with conversion rates well over 40% year after year. We trending higher in 2013 through the 2nd quarter. Via our Institute, sales associates have access to outstanding resources for developing skills.

You guys do a terrific job creating these infographics and providing helpful information for us. Keep up the good work!

Looks like I missed some really great real estate consultants on the list in this infographic. Any suggestions on who to add in the future?

who wants to sell house when you can hire agents and have them sell. YOU be the mentor YOU train the agents YOU give them all the resources they need to become successful and you can take a cut. You provide the computers and the office and the laptops the cars sit back and collect

This is such a great article and so informative, especially for companies that are ready to break out in the real estate industry! I'm part of a company called PreviewStay that gives buyers and sellers a unique advantage in the market. We give buyers the chance to essentially "test drive" a house before deciding to buy. With our service, we convert leads upwards of 400% higher than typical walk-ins!

We are still reaching out in the social media world to get the message of our service across! This article will definitely get us on our way to helping more and more buyers. You can even check out one of our properties and see for yourself how successful we can be!

Great infographics and excellent tips for newbies! Becoming a digital native is very important these days where people looking for properties or houses for sale make it a point to search online for some good buys. Real Estate agents should make their presence felt in the online world, may it be through company websites or social media marketing. The more visibility you get online, the greater the chances for your target market to find you. Thanks for the post!

Great article Seth. I work for First American Title in Central OR in Business Development (social media, sales & marketing) and new agents/brokers need to know that Title Companies can be a HUGE resource and are here to help grow their business! Whether it's for property research, list kits,
enhanced property profiles, social media/technology assistance, marketing and
website assistance, content creation, farming and leads, classes and training, online and mobile apps (check out myFirstAm) for 24/7 live tracking of their escrow/title orders with additional tools; many Escrow/Title Companies either have people on their team who can do one or more of all the above, or have a connection to point them in the right direction...I think agents/brokers would be surprised at all the tools and resources actually, so take advantage of them!
